Hello everyone! I'm Green Rivers, bringing in this big lug. He's Klaus Von Reinherz from the Kekkai Sensen manga.

He's technically a vampire hunter, though that's less and less these days and he more or less helps deal with whatever oddities crop up in Jerusalem's Lot (New York only with aliens and monsters and magic). In his off time, he's a giant sap who loves chess and its Beyondian variant called prosfair. He also enjoys gardening and being surrounded by old people.

I look forward to playing with everyone!

I SHOULD... PROBABLY WARN YOU that depending on where you live it might not be quite that simple. :c The US only decided to publish the first three books for whatever dumb reason, and also there's... actually a ninth and final book. >_> Three trilogies in all.

But I'm glad you're looking into them sdkfjlkdsjf I think this may in fact be my fastest enable ever :D

Does playing chess usually involve massive stakes for Klaus?

ETA: I apologise for the peanut gallery above me. Except not really.

A detective that is also a skeleton. Throw in that he's also a sorcerer who can manipulate the four elements and that was what made me pick up the first book. How do you get better than that.

I'm assuming Calvin-Chess is referring to chess that is something like Calvinball? ngl Skul would be interested in learning it. :3

Oh well in that case

guess who doesn't have a brain to damage
/badum tish

But seriously that sounds awesome and it would be really cool if Skul could learn it well enough for the two of them to become regular chess/Prosfair partners. Can you imagine the onlookers. ...Actually how do you even play it? Is there a board? Is it a virtual board?

ding ding ding we have a winner

... But Skul not having a brain does not in any way mean that he's out to absorb other people's brains into his body, so this should work out well.

Yes excellent. Weekly chess exhibition matches in the Courtyard of Public Opinion where everyone believes they could have taken the position of the loser and done ten times better.
