hey! it's time for a cr with me meme!
Welcome to the spring edition of the CR Meme! Now that we've gotten settled into the new storyline, it's time to start heating things up in the big turtle city.

For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for your characters. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.'

We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in.

ALSO this month, we have a special addition called "4th Wall Plans", in case you want to talk about ~~or be enabled into~~ some ideas you have for the upcoming April 4th wall event. Want to inflict extra chaos on Keeliai, but not sure who to bring? Link your muselist!

CHARACTER: Anton Shudder
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: Quoted from last CR meme: Anton has a demon-thing inside him which makes it necessary for him not to ever get angry ever. Luckily he's pretty good at that, with a result that he ... never gets angry ever. In spite of being a living weapon, though, he's extremely maternal. Seriously. The bloke gave all the Foreigners socks for Christmas. He's everybody's mother. He's also five hundred years old, and owns the Midnight Hotel.

Lately Anton has been more ... not exactly driven, but he's definitely settling and has no intention of leaving until he can figure out how to take his memories with him.

CURRENT STATUS: Pretty much just ... maternalling over everyone, owning the Midnight Hotel and managing interpersonal things and outerpersonal things. I should probably make him more active in that whole 'take memories home' thing.
CR GOALS: I actually have no idea. Anton kind of generates his own threads, which can be annoying when I need to keep an eye on my tag load. No specific plots, though I wouldn't mind the whole 'turn crazy and homicidal' thing coming up again.

CHARACTER: Solomon Wreath
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: Quoted from last CR meme: Solomon is a man of faith who originally put that faith is some less than ethical plans and is now struggling with putting it elsewhere. He's a necromancer and his magic is addictive in nature, which is a problem because since arriving in Keeliai he's gotten rocks-fall-everybody-dies powerful. That said Solomon values control and choice over power, so he's actively trying to avoid that 'rocks fall' eventuality.

Lately Solomon literally bound his magic to keep it from becoming unmanagable, which has put him in a funk in which he does nothing. I'm planning to change that.

CURRENT STATUS: Funkitude. He had a couple days of uncertainty re: Raine and Genis but he's going to have spoken to Genis soon and he's already talked stuff out with Raine. Emotionally he's in a decent place, thanks to Raine, but he's also bumming around not doing much.
CR GOALS: I'm permablinding him this month to kick him up the ass and also experiment some more with his magic, control of it and ways it can manifest apart from the 'rocks-fall-everybody-dies' eventuality. Sol is the kind of guy who needs to be broken to make great things happen, so it should get him out of his languishing.

SCENE-DOS: Generally I like both prose and network, though I don't mind actionspam at all and will match it if that's your preference! Also, I really love finishing threads to an IC conclusion, and I don't mind waiting for long periods if I have to and my thread-partners are really busy. I prefer letting things develop organically rather than with planning, because I like surprises, so aside from fight-scenes I will generally go 'let's throw these two together in this place and see what happens' more than anything else.
SCENE-DON'TS: Random small-talk, unless it's part of a larger conversation that will likely turn back to other topics, doesn't tend to grab my attention. Due to tagloads and workstuff I'm going to start wrapping small-talk threads up quickly unless you ping me to let me know you want it to go someplace. Otherwise, the only 'don't' I have is that Anton and Solomon can't meet, being from the same canon. They've heard of each other so they can easily talk about one another, but I'd like to keep them apart as much as possible barring handwavable 'passing in the hall' type interactions.

4TH WALL PLANS: I'm gonna throw Anton's bestie Rover Larrikin into the fourth-wall meme, so if you want the goodies on Tushan's resident stoicman, this is your opportunity! ... With the warning that Rover is highly invasive and flirtatious and loves shipping people and talks about sex all the time, so if you don't wanna be tagged by him that's fine, just let me know.

Also considering bringing in Jack from the Borderlands games, canonpoint Pre-Sequel.

They totally would. No one would escape the maternalism. They could share notes.

Definitely still planning on Akito to give Anton a guardian of the home of some sort once I know if he learns how to make them himself. *u*

That would be cute and Anton would probably post it on guard in the lobby somewhere.

I wouldn't mind Sol and Tazendra talking magical shop.

Cheers, but I don't think Sol and Tazendra clicked too well in their previous threads so I'd rather not.

Fair enough.

I, of course always like Anton and Valdis' interactions, but with current soul shenanigans I might like to try some Valdis and Sol CR again.

I'm planning an open log of Sol crashing into things around the Hotel after he's been blinded, how about then?

That sounds absolutely horrible...let's do it :P

... And now I'm wondering how Valdis feels about Raine's beau still being around when Dante isn't.

She honestly hasn't thought about it, she's had a lot on her mind and Raine's love life isn't currently an issue. And it isn't like Dante left her on purpose :(
