hey! it's time for a cr with me meme! Welcome to the spring edition of the CR Meme! Now that we've gotten settled into the new storyline, it's time to start heating things up in the big turtle city. For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for your characters. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.' We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in. CANON: Avatar: The Last Airbender
PERSONALITY: Half-warrior, half-scientist, half-comedian, half-lover of boomerangs. Loves meat and sarcasm.

CURRENT STATUS: Has been sticking his head into getting the foreigners organised politically. Working on Operation WAFFLE-O Get Our Stuff Back in tearing down the Palace. Also working for the Metalworkers as a gopher and collector of reports.
CR GOALS: Getting in touch with NPCs. Also getting deeper into the plotty plotty things. Also, horrible excuses to bring out Wang Fire.


CHARACTER: Genis
CANON: Tales of Symphonia
PERSONALITY: Bratty genius black mage and chef extraordinaire.

CURRENT STATUS: Still getting his feet wet. Currently not a fan of Solomon, and not as close to his sister as he should be.
CR GOALS: Patching things up with his sister and her beau. Also getting a job as a chef. Also just making good friends. And falling for Xion because that would be so totally cute.


4TH WALL PLANS: Rita Mordio from Tales of Vesperia; I will be voice-testing her completely live and without canon review, so wish me luck. I'd also consider bringing someone else in as well, either Tetra from Wind Waker or Mia from Golden Sun.

God they are. I am still in this massive state of catching up with the game. There are so many tags in my inbox. I've promised Sokka tags to so many people too! So yes, this is going to happen!

I have seriously enjoyed Genis and Bakura far more than I actually believe is healthy, so I'm definitely going to be putting some more into this. Especially because it's one of those CR things that really does fit despite it being so off. XD;

And yes, we're only two posts into Sokka and Stork, but I laughed. Oh man, I am LAUGHING at your Stork posts. I need more in my life!

More of both Sokka and Genis I think, clearly if Genis isn't as close to Raine as he should be there needs to be an intervention (also please please please introduce Aqua to Wang Fire somehow that will end only in hilarity)

I'm cracking up at the idea of Genis crushing hard on Xion because of all the things Aqua knows and wants to teach Xion about how to handle people who are crushing on you is not one of them

SOLD! Aqua will be good for the both of them! Especially Genis, since he needs people to give him lots of love. And Sokka of course will be totally happy to hang with Aqua as well. :D

And yes, I am so so so looking for opportunities to reintroduce Wang Fire because it is beautiful fantastic and everything everyone wants!

And I can imagine! it's totally not what I had in mind for Genis at the beginning, but it so totally works, and it will be hilarious and horrible and fun at the same time!

I will forever be a sucker for Golden Sun characters. It's one of my favorite RPG series ever.

Onto the main reason I'm commenting - I would love more chances to thread with Sokka and Genis. Especially Genis. Accel is certainly kind of a dick at first, but he has a serious soft spot for kids who had crappy childhoods for things outside their control.

Another Golden Sun lover! I actually would love to find a new home for Mia. She's one of those muses that I could play forever, and TS might be a good home for her. :D Maybe I'll bring TWO people into the Fourth Wall thing. Is that insane? Naaaaaah.

ANYWAY...

I am totally eager for both of that. And that you want Genis even more than Sokka is music for my ears because I need to figure out a good CR base for Genis still. So I am so on board with this!

It's a fabulous series. I once tried out Jenna way back in... 2006 or 2007? But not for long. In any case I will always fully approve of anyone playing Mia.

Any ideas for how for what you'd like to do?

Ideas... hm...


Genis is bored. He needs a thing to do, and so he might just very well accidentally get into a tussle with a kedan who's not very nice. That would be a pretty good segue into Accelerator possibly ushering him away and being faux-dad or something. Especially because the two of them will have kind of a battle of dickish things to say at first.

Sokka... gosh, he's like The Simpsons; he's already doing a bit of everything. It's so hard to narrow down a specific idea with him. He'll have just gotten over quarantine, and I imagine I'm still going to keep a little bit of the side effects with him (minorly, of course) for a few extra days because that's Sokka's comically horrible immune system, so any chance encounter will leave him either a little more irritable or just less likely to punch back at Accel's dickishness.

Both of those sound fine and dandy. Accel has also just gotten over quarantine, though the side effects were much kinder on him than on Sokka. Where would you like them to meet up - back on site once demolition resumes, or somewhere else?

Probably back on the sight would be fine for Sokka. I need like so badly to get Sokka caught up with things since this month has not been my super happy tagging time.

I should get a catch-all up for Genis since he really really needs one to get him into things. I'll see what I can do since I'm almost caught up on backtags... and now just need to tackle new posts that have come in since.

On site works. Luckily the demolition log is good for the entire month, so that's a good place to put it. Would you prefer to start it, or should I?

I just finished my current set of backtags, but if you want to start it, be my guest. I've got a veritable HOST of starters to do, and if you point me to a starter, it'll be much easier for me to not forget given the number of promised CR things I've already made!

Need to get Sonja and Sokka together again both because they have good chemistry and with Sokka getting more politically active he is pretty much perfect spy fodder.

They actually do. I've always joked that Sokka is pretty much my go-to guy for threading everywhere. He gets along with a lot of people who are at least willing to listen and don't outright dismiss him because he's funny and silly, and he's secretly the gel between strong personalities. So we should get those two to make friends.

Before we get to ideas:

I'm totally willing to handwave the dinner unless you have a strong preference of playing it out. In the back of my head, I think Sokka just got a very wrong impression of Sonja because of her very strong political things and because Katara, but certainly she's not as bad as that, and I think it showed in the Valentine's Day thing. So if we handwave it, I'm totally content to say that they had interesting conversation and came off generally happy, even though it's very much not a date. (So not a date!)

As far as going forward, after the quarantine - which hey, that's already now! - Sokka will be found predominantly at the palace, the hotel, and then occasionally at the Metalworkers' projects. And he's probably hanging around with Tony and Gene off and on. I need to get Sokka a more formal project (the trouble with playing catch-up with a proactive character is that I'm always racing for ideas), and Sonja could easily interrupt him while he's (ahem) "blueprinting" something.

Sonja could also be fully aware of the fact that he's working for the Metalworkers, and perhaps Sokka can leak a few things that way. Not that he knows much, but he would know the Metalworkers are happy as pie about the Palace going down.
