CR With Me | March 2015

GUYS GUYS I REMEMBERED THE BIMONTHLY MEME IN THE CORRECT MONTH LOOK AT ME GO

hey! it's time for a cr with me meme!

Welcome to the spring edition of the CR Meme! Now that we've gotten settled into the new storyline, it's time to start heating things up in the big turtle city.

For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for your characters. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.'

We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in.

ALSO this month, we have a special addition called "4th Wall Plans", in case you want to talk about or be enabled into some ideas you have for the upcoming April 4th wall event. Want to inflict extra chaos on Keeliai, but not sure who to bring? Link your muselist!

Callaghan would totally be behind this. He would happily run/manage it, too. HIS EMPIRE OF LEARNING REBUILDS \o/

Excellent. Tony's actually competent to run an operation like that, but he'd always rather be doing science, so Callaghan's welcome to be the Emperor of Learning. Unfortunately, Tony's not such a great teacher. He can probably do higher-level hands-on classes without leaving everyone completely baffled? And he can of course maintain equipment/build shit that needs building/invent useful gadgets/completely misunderstand the point of a community enterprise and use the makerspace to build things to turn them a profit.

Cal is fine with nonprofit tbh; just as long as they can stay afloat. I am seriously excited now though and may do an OOC post later to organize more!

Somebody's going to have to explain the concept of "non-profit" to Tony

I am also excited! :D They should totally set this up at the Palace site - this is exactly the kind of kedan outreach/community resource the foreigners need there to improve kedan relations.

it's not hard he promises

Cal won't think of it, but if Tony brings it up, he'd be okay with setting it there.

but why would you not make a profit when you could be making a profit

Tony would suggest it when Callaghan starts planning things out - Gene and Sokka probably would also, if either of them get wind of the project first, since community outreach was one of the things they all discussed when they were plotting --turtle domination-- how to improve the foreigners' reputation.

Because it came up in the actual plot post I did- Keelai also apparently has its own university that Callaghan could feasibly work in to/with/etc. Thoughts?

Given what was said in the plotting post about the university being aimed at younger students in a more traditional apprenticeship-type setting, I think Tony would be eager to make this a more free-form, communal learning environment focused on hands-on collaborative learning and practical applications. He's much more comfortable in that kind of environment than in a structured schooling environment. If Callaghan wants to work more directly with the university, maybe they could work together to make this a sort of satellite partner institution?

Readily available resources would be a draw for Callaghan, but he could certainly bargain for the means to do something of the like he and Tony are more familiar/comfortable with. I'll do some drafts and we can handwave them discussing this behind the scenes?
