Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.
How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
→ Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles. → Tag around with everyone! → Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle! → Maybe even RESERVE so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace! Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell!
Dramatic Chase Sequence! You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
Where There's A Will, There's A...? The Life and Dreaming Planes have been merged, and sometimes what start out as wishful thinking becomes lured into reality. That slick new motorcycle or pile of kingly treasure you were just daydreaming about? Surprise! Though it may only stay for a short while before it disppears again, so make it count. Hopefully you're not the type to daydream about terrible things befalling people you don't like...
SECRET UNDERCOVER MODE ACTIVATE! The three major kedan families all have their own agendas, and you've chosen to entangle yourselves with one (or more!) of them. Are you hoping to shift the balance of power? Gain some favours? Perhaps you're on a mission to bring a criminal to justice, or maybe you just want to get the cream of the crop from the black market.
WILDCARD! Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun'-esque experience. Please specify in your post!
And, whilst this is happening, Shay is backing off, looking equal parts horrified and awed. A hand grasps at the hilt of the sword at his belt, and he's tensed, ready to defend himself, despite the expression plastered over his face right now.
His mind flickers back to when his Aunt forced him to Church all those years ago. Sermons on demons being everywhere, able to shapeshift into horrifying forms... Then, to not too long ago, Kesegowaase explaining the co-existence between man, animal and nature. To animal spirits wandering around.
He doesn't draw the weapon. Not yet.
He narrows his eyes slightly at the voice. The creature didn't open it's mouth, but it was Valdis' voice echoing in his mind.
That depends on who you ask, She laughed, raising her head high, To some I might be called a Bargest, to others, a Spirit, I have even been called a Goddess. But do not worry, I mean you no harm.
She sat, curling her tail around her paws and tipped her head to look at him, highly amused to get such a lovely reaction. It had been far too long since anyone had looked at her with such an expression.
Shay mumbles something under his breath. Something in Latin, it sounds like. Roughly translated as a quick protection prayer against evil spirits.
Old habits die hard. Even if Shay didn't fully believe in the Almighty God.
"No." He says, still gripping his sword. "You don't mean me harm. What would be the point in savin' me from those thugs if you did?" He's regaining his composure quickly, but still not straightening his posture.
"A spirit... I'm either hallucinatin' even more, or there's truth to yer words. I don't know which I prefer."
I'm certain that you'd rather this be a hallucination, but no, it is real. She replied, curling her lips back to show off her teeth. She stood up and took a step forward, her emerald green eyes curious as she approached, wondering how he might react and if he actually thought his sword could hurt her.
Honestly? Shay doesn't know what to think. But following artefacts that can cause massive, city-destroying earthquakes... He's a bit more open-minded. He takes a step back to match that step forward.
"Well, if it's real, could y'do me a wee favour and just stay where you are?"
She stopped her advance, but didn't sit back down. This was the first foreigner to show any fear at her hound form and it was entertaining.
I thought we had established that I mean you no harm, she replied lightly, You are the one who asked me to prove that this place wasn't your world. I assume by your actions that I am correct in thinking that there isn't anyone like me in your world, hence the point has been proven.
Although there wasn't anyone exactly like her in her own world either, but that was beside the issue.
Yes, well, I'd shift back, but my clothes are in shreds, so I'm afraid you are stuck with me. She teased.
And you are afflicted with nothing more than your own history. Your little prayer is evidence of that, as is your fear of what you do not understand. Mankind is so narrow minded.
"Aye. We are." What happened in Lisbon is proof of that. "No reason t'go rubbin' our noses in it."
Now Valdis has stopped, Shay is staying put, too.
"Now, I'm gonna still be suspicious of ya, maybe a wee bit terrified, but if you don't go after me, I won't have to find a way t'go after you." There's a slight smirk cracking his expression, now. "After all, if what you say's true, I'm sure there'd be a way somewhere."
Is that a challenge? She asked, flicking an ear in amusement. I have no reason to go after you, you are not even a hint of a threat to me. Besides it would be bad form considering how I just saved you.

He's not let go of the hilt of his sword just yet. This... Spirit, whatever it was... Yeah, Shay's pretty spooked. And it takes a lot to do that.
"And I still of the impression that I'm afflicted with somethin'."
