[Then the clicky thing approaches, and he freaks out.] Gah! [he says, jumping, and his scream is delightfully high-pitched. Then he crouches to look at it.] Ello there.
[ This was terrible, they were equally freaked out by little things. But then Stork relaxes (marginally) when he sees Vav stoop to check out the little mechanical creation, which has little ticky sprockets for wheels and a rotating light. It doesn't look like he's going to damage it. ]
It senses energy signatures. Or, once it's properly powered it will.
[Aaand Vav has descended into baby talk.] Lookit how cute it is, it's a little wiggly clickything! [Not as cute as ORF, but he's gonna cut Stork some slack, he's working out of a trashcan here.]
[ Stork doesn't mind, because machines generally better than people. ]
Crystal energy! I haven't found a single crystal anywhere. That's why I'm trying to find enough materials for a frequency tuner.
[ He shows Vav the coil of wire, and then points a four-fingered hand towards the small pile of parts he's recovered. One does indeed look like a tuning fork, others are tools, and others could possibly be attachments with some tinkering. ]
I didn't know crystals had energy, [Vav says, glancing at Stork's collection of bits and bobs. Hilda also might know what to make of all this, but he's at a bit of a loss.]
Um...mechanical energy, I guess? And nuclear power? [And whatever dangerous power source makes his gloves and X-Ray's glasses go.] Electricity? Batteries??
[ Stork looks oddly at Vav, but ultimately shrugs. He's already seen how different this place is from Atmos... maybe everywhere is different from Atmos. The merb glances out at the direction Vav had dasehd in from, then hunches his shoulders. ]
Er... [Vav scratches the back of his head.] I accidentally used my slo-mo powers on some of those Snake characters, and they were right pissed. [He peeks his head out the alley.] I think they're gone now.
[ And onward to the warehouses they go. The first thing that Stork does once they're inside is rig what looks like an aerosol can and an abacus to the doorway, and he does it in about six seconds flat before turning to poke around the area. ]
