I'm not entirely certain how the 'death' thing would work. Valdis holds over a thousand souls within her. To make it simple, she is capable of stealing souls (hellhounds have been called Reapers if that helps), so interpret that as you will. She is about 3000 years old and has died multiple times, (most recently near the end of September). The soul energies that she possesses allow her to heal herself and return from death.

I would think that he wouldn't be able to tell when she will die, because she is almost immortal.

He only sees the soul that is living, the one that matches the body it is inhabiting. If she has other souls inside her, he wouldn't notice them unless they had the ability to take over her body as well and that would be something he just would kind of freak out about.

If Valdis is going to permanently die at some point in her future canon, that's what Cain would see the time for. Immortality doesn't change it (even Cain's clock has an end), but if you don't know when she might eventually end up dying, that's fine too!

How does Cain's deathsight work on characters who have died in canon?

Because, well, Tazendra has. Were she to return to her world, her soul would enter the afterlife and start the process of reincarnation. (Or she could cajole the gods into letting her leave as an undead, but that's not likely. Or sulk about the afterlife for Reasons.) She's alive on the Turtle, of course, but I don't know the metaphysics enough to know if Cain can tell that she has no future in her own world. (At least, as a living person.)

(Even if Cain can see Tazendra's death on the Turtle, Tazendra is likely to live for centuries if not millenia. Her natural lifespan would allow for about 2,000 more years, and sorcerers seem to be able to augment that. Or she can pick a fight with Malicant and die next month.)

If she's dead and at the end of her journey, then Cain would see how long her clock lasted in life in silver numbers! Essentially it tells him exactly how old someone was when they died. It isn't uncommon for him to see the souls of people who have died, so it won't be too surprising, but he will be able to know that she is/should be dead right now at a glance even if she's up and about in-game.

Hi, I'm TML, and I play Wang Fire Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I came into the game... a few weeks ago? I don't even remember any more. I feel like I've lived out an entire year in this game already with the drama the past few weeks. o_o XD

ANYWAY, glad for you to come! The game is... awesome I think? At least that's what I do think, but time will tell if my opinion is correct. :D
