Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character.
Dramatic Chase Sequence!
You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children, or even one of the newest editions to Keeliai's menagerie, an incredibly affectionate turtle the size of a minivan! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
Darker Days
Malicant's flexing his chaos muscle and causing havoc on the shell! You could run into some evil cultists in a dark alley, try to infiltrate the possessed palace, or work on hacking the console function back from the technopathic baddie.
WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

Ellie hadn't been expecting to meet those guys. Freaks that were worshipping the guy who'd practically destroyed the place? No. Thanks. They were delusional, and after all the bullshit with the spores destroying the food, and Malicant fucking up the consoles, Ellie knew she wanted to be anywhere besides near them. So, she slowly backed away, and then turned and ran.

Back out into the crowds of normal Kedan and foreigners, and straight into a new face.

"Fuck! Sorry-- there were these freaky cult fuckers and..." A pause, and then what amounted to very, very sincere surprise.

"Tommy?" He was the last person that she would've ever expected to show up in Keeliai. "Wait a fucking second... You're here?!"

Crowds. Crowds. Tommy keeps his fists tight at his sides and his muscles braced for anything, for a fight, for something while his eyes dart around at everyone and everything. Not everyone apparently, not when a body unexpectedly rushes right into him.

It's instinct and quick reflexes that have him snatching the thin arm of whoever it was, his grip biting-- until he recognizes the voice, how the person that that voice belongs to knows him by name. "What the hell-? Ellie?"

What is Joel's girl doing here? They're supposed to be together, or they were the last time he'd seen them on the hill overlooking the dam community, seeing them off.

"Christ-- you alright?" Tommy releases her to look her over, to make sure she's not hurt because he knows his brother would have his hide if she was. "Where's Joel?"

"I'm fine, there were just some creepy fuckers and I thought I'd skedaddle, you know?" She had to take a moment to catch her breath. She was pretty sure Joel wouldn't freak out at Tommy like he had Sarah. Tommy was at least still alive back home.

But it was weird. She couldn't think of why Tommy would be there-- land between dreaming and death... or something. Dreaming. Right. Not everyone was dead there. "Joel's here too, just got here actually.. again. He's probably back at his place."

She brushed her hair aside, and glanced in the direction she was pretty sure the Earth Sector was in. "We've all been sticking together since shit started going down-- he's gonna want you there, too."

Hope you don't mind a giant baby turtle essentially head-butting you, Tommy. Fortunately, the woman chasing after the turtle and looking rather harried is here to save the day - or something.

"Leon, stop that, how many times do I have to tell you -" She's so focused on the great big turtle she hasn't even noticed him yet. "I'm sorry, I - Tommy?"

That's one way to welcome a guy. He doesn't have much time to get a good look at let alone react to the baby turtle that doesn't really look like a baby turtle but more like giant turtle ... thing. Or something.

It's only when he hears his name does he react, taking a step away from the turtle to swing his attention to the woman. He stares at her, brows shooting up. "Holy hell - Tess?"

There's no way this can be Tess; he looks her up and down, takes in the sight of her, how she's filled out. Looks healthy.

Jesus Christ--

"Yeah, it's - shit, Tommy, it's good to see you," she says, and with a surprising amount of emotion. She hasn't seen the guy in years, but, well - she'd died, she hadn't thought she'd ever see him again.

So maybe it's not quite so shocking, all told, when she pushes past the large (and rather cute) turtle to give him a fierce hug.
