TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
4. Maybe even reserve so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!

1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
   Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
   Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!
3. Have Met Before? Because I Could've Sworn I've Seen You In My Dreams.
   Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character.
4. Dramatic Chase Sequence!
   You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children, or even one of the newest editions to Keeliai's menagerie, an incredibly affectionate turtle the size of a minivan! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
5. Spring Fling!
   Apparently the kedan take the "starting anew" aspect of spring very seriously and have started showing their appreciation for flowers and lovely weather by kissing everyone they across! Neither age nor gender seem to play a factor (though the children will instead get kisses atop their heads, because they're not that weird) but you might find yourself liplocked with a random stranger just for walking down the street.
6. WILDCARD!
   Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

[Don't worry, she operates under a 'catch and release' policy. Normally to the authorities, but she's not going to cling to Kaine. Mainly because that was an invasion of his personal space as it was, but still.]

[She should probably bring up the fact that she knows at somepoint, but probably not in the middle of a bustling area.]

Sure.

[It's not that far to her suite from here, a short walk, really. And since she knows how Kaine is, she's not bringing any of it up, not yet. Instead she she points out occasionally one or another of the kedan places that serve food that pass her tastecheck because that'd at least be useful for him. Not complete silence, but something to bring up, even if it doesn't really have a point.

When they reach her suite, she pauses for a moment right outside the door, before she begins opening the door.]

Where do want me to start?

[Kaine listens in silence as she talks of the local food places. He can't tell if it's because she's attempting to make small talk, or because she somehow knows of his constant hunt for a good meal.... He rather hoped it was the former, because the latter would mean she's been spying on him.]

"Why us?" I suppose is a question as good as any. I'm not exactly a hero.

[Spying not so much, even though it's actually a combination of the two- an attempt, and because if the other Kaine here is anything to go by, hers will appreciate good food too.]

As far as I can tell, they aren't exactly picky with who's here. Plenty of superheroes, but also plenty of people who are completely normal and don't get tangled up with anything approaching crime.

You might not be a hero, but it doesn't automatically mean you're a bad guy.

[The inside of her suite's obviously been lived in- she's keeping it mostly tidy, but it's obvious a teenager's been living here mostly on their own.]

I uh, think I should bring this up first. This place doesn't just grab from different universes, it sometimes grabs the different versions of the same people.

The United States Government has a different opinion on my being a "good guy." Yes, I am aware this isn't America, but my point still stands.

[He looks around her suite out of curiosity. It was obvious she's been here longer than a day--to his knowledge not even teenagers are this destructive that quickly, even if attempts have been made to suggest otherwise.]

Are you saying there's another you here? [Like April, but from a different... universe?]

There's also a version of my dad here who's younger than me. [Not the one in this test drive. The other one.

She hesitates for a moment before she moves onto her question.]

..Were any of you ever planning on telling me after a clone of me appeared?

That your father was a teenager once? [It's clear from his tone he knows that's not what she means, but it's honestly the only question he can think of.

He didn't.]

I know, Kaine.

[Swears quietly under his breath, then loudly.] That idiot!

[That's a first.]

I don't think he realized until after.

He's... younger? [How do clone ages work?] He looks like he's still in his twenties, anyways.

By that point in time you would be a toddler and your father and I had long come to an understanding. [aka "that's no excuse."]

Except according to him my parents never married and I don't exist.

[Kaine, she's defended you before, and she'll even defend a version of you from you.]

[The shock is evident in his eyes, but he's already exclaimed in surprise far more times than he's comfortable with for one day (heck, for a lifetime), so he says nothing of the sort.]

The universe is certainly an... interesting place.
