Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
4. Maybe even reserve so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!

1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
   Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
   Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!
3. Have Met Before? Because I Could've Sworn I've Seen You In My Dreams.
   Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character.
4. Dramatic Chase Sequence!
   You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children, or even one of the newest editions to Keeliai's menagerie, an incredibly affectionate turtle the size of a minivan! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
5. Shapeshifting Shenanigans
   The native kedan are shapeshifters and it seems like something's gotten into the water supply, because you suddenly find yourself able to duplicate that particular skill! Whether you're any good at it or not remains to be seen...
6. WILDCARD!
   Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

[The gang is chasing, looking forward, tailing a particular girl, but have any of them bothered to look back, or even up?

No, they didn't. No one ever does.

From seemingly nowhere (though really from a nearby building), Oliver jumps and drops his entire weight on a gang member to break his fall. Of course, the gang member ends up with a couple of broken ribs, but that's details. He's not dead.

Oliver rises to his feet. A man pulls out a knife and slashes at his face, but Oliver is too quick for the other. He leans back for a moment before straightening himself and punching him in the nose.]

[To say the day had been uneventful is an understatement. It's days like these that make Kaine wonder (more than usual) why he bothers to put the damn costume on at all. There are more than enough actual superheroes here, and yet he has to keep getting involved. One of these days he's going to figure out why. Today is not that day.

So he's swinging back home when a familiar blue hoodie catches his attention. It has to be a coincidence... didn't it? He crawls down the closest wall to get a closer look.]

[Yeah sorry Brandon, you happened to run into a child soldier. Bad luck there. Her eyes sharpen into a glare, but she doesn't have time to shoot it his way when she has to watch of the path ahead of her.]

Why would you do such a thing? Of course they're angry with you.

[Most definitely tea. But if he thinks she's capable of discerning one tea from the next, he's sorely mistaken. Surana's simply looking for something worthwhile, something nice. Her over large dog bumps once into her side, quite purposefully, as if to remind her not to forget about him. An idle hand goes down to pet his ears but she's a bit too busy haggling - or trying to haggle - to pay him much notice.

So when Sully suddenly appears, she casts a look of surprise over her shoulder, eyebrows lifting.]

Is there?

[The vendor is very quick to step in and say that he is not leading her on, but Surana gives a kindly smile full of teeth to his protests.]

You wouldn't be having me on, would you, serah?

[ Felicity stops running when the men stop chasing her, and she doubles over, gasping for breath as she watches the Hood beat the men. Still having trouble breathing, she leans against the wall of a building and waits. She isn't worried about the Hood hurting her next. Not now that she knows who he is.

She presses a hand to her ribs as she waits for him to finish. ]

Should've kept that gym membership.

[The marketplace was entirely too crowded for Javik's tastes, with all the yelling and elbowing and jostling about. In his time, open markets were a thing of the past. When you needed food or rations, you applied for and received what was available in a war shattered galaxy. There was no profit or bargaining involved, and seeing all this, he missed the simplicity of what he’d left behind.

He preferred to purchase his provisions when fewer people would see him, but he had long since learned that now was when the freshest seafood was sold. With a specific vendor in mind, he cut through the crowd with ruthless determination, avoiding physical contact as much as possible. Despite his measured steps, moving past one overburdened kedan set him into the path of an older human.

Javik turned sharply, but the pauldron of his armor caught the man’s shoulder. It stopped him in his tracks, even if it hadn’t been hard enough to topple either of them. No apology was forthcoming, and the usual look of disdain on his face could easily be interpreted as blame.]

[Oh, look at that, another dog! Surana immediately brightens at the sight of another mabari - not hers, obviously - and she crouches down to pet the animal and brush fingers against those stubby ears.]

Good boy. Look at how big you are.

[Yes, yes, so she has a small soft spot for dogs. Especially big, scary ones. She shoots Hawke a glance and a smile.]

He must smell mine. He's around here somewhere, probably looking for --

[And that's when the big, burly beast comes crashing in behind her, nearly knocking her into the other dog in his haste to return to her. The other mabari is coated in khaddis, the design intricate, and he cocks his head at the other hound that's captured his master's affections. The great tongue lolls out of his red-tinted teeth in greeting.]

Here you are. And oh, by the Maker, what have you been eating?

[ Part of what keeps Aracely from freaking out too much is that she's been able to sense Kaine since her powers came back into effect. He was here. That was all that mattered. That meant everything was going to be okay.

So she wanders around, trying to find where exactly in here he was. Because first things first: Kaine. Always find Kaine.

She looks up when she hears his voice, smiling widely. ]

Kaine!

I have been looking for you. What have you been doing? Have you been helping fight in the war? I told you you were a hero. [ Okay she has a lot of feelings about Kaine and the hero business. ]

[Oh boy, some things never changed.

But truth be told, he was so happy to see her, he could forget her bad little habit of bombarding him with questions the second she sees him.]

Scarlet Spider, remember? [Points to the mask. Usually he couldn't care less, but he's been trying to be careful with the whole secret identity thing for Peter and May's sakes.]

And being drafted doesn't make me a hero. [He lands on the ground beside her.] When did you get here?

[ Oh, so we're embracing the names now? Does this mean he'll call her Hummingbird now? Because that would be so cool if he did. They'd really be like heroes now. ]

But you were chosen for a reason, right?

Peter and May are here? Who's May? [ She's still never going to knock before entering his mind, honestly. ]

I just got here. They must have chosen you for a reason. I wish they hadn't waited so long to choose me. [ You really can't leave Kaine alone. ]

[Now that makes Hawke smile. It's nice meeting another dog lover, especially lovers of mabaris. For the most part, everyone in Kirkwall is terrified of the big beast. He can't imagine why.

When her own mabari arrives his smile widens even more. It's even got its own khaddis! Notch remains completely unpainted. Hawke never found one that suited the dog before they fled Ferelden.]

Either he just stole a pie or someone's cat has just gone missing.

[Hawke looks down at Notch. The mabari's ears stand straight up and his mouth opens in a doggy grin, letting his tongue hang out. Someone looks ready to play.]

Looks like you've got some competition around here now.

[They're not heroes. Stop thinking they are.]

It's... complicated. And what have I told you about reading my mind? You know it's dangerous. [The Other's still in there.]

I don't know what to think. Wait--are you actually excited to be here?

[ Totally are. You're never convincing her otherwise, Kaine. ]

What happens when your thing in your mind meets mine? [ That's an odd thought that's just occurred to her. ] I know it's there now, anyway. I can be careful.

I'm not afraid either. [ Said with bright eyes that show how much she means it too. ]

I am if I get to see you being a hero.

I don't know and I don't want to find out. [He remembers what it did to Carrion, and that's enough to have a rush of fear run over him. He doesn't want her to end up like that.

And he knows her well enough to know she fully means what she says next.] One day you'll learn to be afraid of me. [Like she should be. Like they all should be.]

Then you've wasted a trip onto the back of a giant turtle, because it's not gonna happen.

[ Glossing over all of Kaine's dramatics. Hasn't trying to burn his costume taught him they don't really work out in practice? ]

So the turtle is real? [ Perks up again. ] I almost thought it was going to be like my real coyote. [ Not actually so real. ]

Can you waste a trip to giant turtle?

He's very good with cats. ...Usually. Sometimes. But he's never eaten one to my knowledge.

[The dog cocks his head and gives a low whine, brushing her hand with his head. She rubs at his ears, just as she had with Notch, and shakes her head. She shoots the other dog a fond smile, one that slightly dims when she looks back up at Hawke. It's a polite expression with mirth dancing at the corners of her lips.]

I should say so. But I'm sure they'll be fast friends. Valen's gone a long time without seeing other mabari like him.

[The tail gets to wagging and she does her best not to chuckle.]

But where are my manners? I'm Neria and this is Valen.

[He hasn't gotten to the costume burning attempt yet.]

It's real all right, and if you wait long enough one of the babies running around might try to kill you on their way to the nearest restaurant. [He says babies but they're already like 10 feet tall.]

[ It was hilarious. And nearly burnt the hotel down but yeah. Let's focus on the hilarity. ]

Turtle babies? Why are the turtle babies trying to kill us? [ This place is so strange and so cool. ]

Are we supposed to fight the turtle babies? [ Yes, she's considering herself a hero and part of this. ]

[Again, Kaine is not known for his farsight.]

No, do not fight the turtle babies. [He secretly likes them. Well, at least the one he talked to in his dream.] They just seem to really like restaurants and forget to look if someone might be under them.

Oh. [ She grins more at that. ] I didn't want to fight the baby turtles so that's good news.

What kind of restaurants are here? Can we get food? I'm hungry. [ Suddenly very aware of her empty stomach. ]

[He fights the urge to laugh. It hadn't hit him until this moment--Aracely is really here. She's real, and she's standing right next to him. He knew he had missed her, but he hadn't realized how much.]

All kinds, but mainly the kind similar to Chinese Food. That said... I do know a good Bar-B-Que place nearby.
