TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
4. Maybe even reserve so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!

1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
   Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
   Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!
3. Have Met Before? Because I Could've Sworn I've Seen You In My Dreams.
   Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character.
4. Will You Be Mine(d)?
   Exploring the turtleside may lead into old, abandoned mines with very old relics to be unearthed beneath the earth. Erm, shell. But be careful! Aggressive, rodent-like creatures are known to hide deep in these mines and they fear only one thing: The swan-lizard-like creatures known as swizards.
5. Walking in a Winter Wonderland
   Tu Vishan's entered colder waters and snow now abounds all over the turtle. Are you out enjoying the cold? Maybe trying on some extra warm layers of clothing? Building a snow turtle for the kids to play with? Then this option's for you!
6. WILDCARD!
   Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

Jesus wept, Apollo, I don't have all the answers here! I've been here just as long as you. Give me time to learn shit first! [He didn't mean to be snappy, but he's non too happy being stranded on a turtle with no way off and no decent information to go by.]

Well...I have a suggestion you're probably going to hate. Why don't you try talking to people? I'm sure the ones who have been here the longest must have some clue what is really going on here. Conspiracy theories at worst. [Really it's always fallen to Apollo to be the 'sociable one', but he knows his husband is capable of laying on the charm when he has to. Plus it was always fun to watch him try to 'act normal' as opposed to how...he normally acts.]

You're right, I do hate that idea. [But he sighs, knowing it's going to happen sooner or later.] Eventually.

[Apollo turns his attention back to his painting, dabbing his brush into the blue paint. The sky is his most favorite thing to paint, despite the simplicity of it. It's not hard to figure out why.]

Of course. Do your cloak and dagger stint first. The longer we can fly under the radar the better. Probably. [Not that he's all too concerned about that. If it wouldn't effect them being about to get information from people, he would march right up to the Emperor and tell her exactly where she can keep her secrets. But that wouldn't exactly be diplomatic.]

And what exactly do you plan on doing during all of this? Paint another masterpiece?

[His lips quirk up in a barely concealed grin.] That is one possibility. I'm actually considering job hunting. Gotta make a steady income some how. But in the meantime, if I can sell a painting or two it couldn't hurt. [And if it gives him a way to mingle with people and make 'friends' all the better.]

[Arches an eyebrow at that.] I can't believe you're actually considering getting a job. What are you going to put on your resume "part of the former junta of the United States?"

Yeah. That can go right under "helped kill God". Besides, just because we can go without eating and drinking doesn't mean I want to spend our entire time here doing that. I would also like a change of clothes that isn't my uniform.

You're so needy. [Comes up behind him to plant a small kiss on Apollo's ear.] And maybe you could buy a shirt if you didn't spend all your money on paint.

[He leans back into the contact, a small smile tugging at his lips reluctantly.] I didn't spend all of my money on paint, actually. [He leans over and grabs a bag out from under the table. Reaching in he pulls out a bundled up black shirt. With a sharp snap it unfolds revealing a plain shirt with large, hot pink letters that spell out 'Keeliai'.]

I got one for the both of us. I think you should wear yours when you get around to talking to people. It'll make you look a little less intimidating.

[There's not much that renders Midnighter speechless, but this is apparently one of them. He opens his mouth, closes it, opens it again, only to close it without any sort of sound coming out. Apollo can't be serious.

Finally, after a few more precious seconds tick by, Midnighter finally finds his voice again.] There's not a chance in hell I'm wearing that.

[His smile doesn't falter an inch.] Really? Even you will get tired of wearing your uniform eventually. Besides, it's a gift. It would be ungracious not to accept.

[His eyes twinkle with poorly concealed glee.]

Because I'm known for being gracious and accepting gifts from strangers.

Because you're know for being a big softie when it comes to family and your husband's whims. [He shoves the shirt at Midnighter's chest.]

Yeah that's not going to happen, Apollo. [Takes a step back, letting the shirt drop to a floor.]

[solar_absorber]

[His brows raise but he just shrugs, seemingly unconcerned about the fallen shirt.] Alright. But don't come running to me when your uniform meets with an unfortunate accident and you need something to wear. [Unfortunate accident...like his eye lasers for one.]

What possessed me to marry such a vindictive man?

Must have been your love for masochism.

[Picks the shirt off the ground.] Why do you want me to wear that damn thing so bad?

The truth this time.

Because it won't kill you to change up your wardrobe once in awhile. Don't get me wrong, your uniform has its...[ahem.]...charm. But what's wrong with dressing like a civilian once in awhile?

Besides...think of it as a souvenir. We came, we fought evil, we got shirts for proof. [And if he happened to buy Midnighter's a size too small well...he gets something out it too.]

Hey I'm not opposed to civvies. [And to prove it, he pulls his cowl off, then runs a hand through his red hair.] What I'm opposed to is the sheer tackiness of this shirt. [Midnighter holds it out.] Did you find this in the crazy, giant turtle equivalent of the West Village?

Okay, first of all, pulling off your cowl does not constitute as civilian wear. And it doesn't matter where I got it. If you had seen some of the other choices, you wouldn't have as much a problem with this shirt.
