Kyle's interactions with comics!Dick are heavily influenced by YJ!Dick. Without the bitty one, he honestly wouldn't have bothered beyond a few conversations. It's just Nightwing, you know? Kyle's relatively much newer on the hero scene than him, and he thought of Dick with a respectful distance. They've got people in common (Roy, Wally, Donna) but their paths never crossed and that was that.

And then bitty Dick happened.

Basically, Kyle met somebody who was on the same frequency he was, who understood his hings implicitly (although it meant he was also being read because of those similarities) and moreover was just a really cool person to get to know. YJ!Dick's pretty much family to him now and since comics!Dick is somewhat the same person that sentiment extends to him too. He's aware it can get creepy when somebody knows too much about you (given the kinds of lives they have) so he's chilling out, giving Dick his space, and getting to know him slowly, because they are just completely the same person in a lot of respects. They've both had to be the strong ones, they both wear their hearts on their sleeves but are introverts, and Dick is just somebody fun to be around and the trust is already there since they're from the same world and they've heard of each other's careers already to some extent.

And then, there's Damian. Boy, are they going to assault him with hope and optimism.

Kyle. Oh, Kyle. Dick feels very awkward when it comes to his younger self, but if he knew that it was him that helped Dick gain this new friend in Kyle, then he would be so grateful. Not that he could ever know, but I am so grateful for little Dick being around because I love the CR they have so much in common and one day. One day. One day Dick will talk about stuff because lord knows he has a lot of stuff and no one to really talk about it too >>

The boy isn't going to know what hit him. Well, he is, but he definitely can't escape it, so.
