Korra (I started to write her name as Thorra) has impressed upon Tony the fact that she’s loyal and protective to the people she cares about. She told off her boyfriend’s boss and tried to pick a fight with him in the interest of protecting his job. Granted, it could have cost Mako his job, but what Tony took away from it more than that Mako has a loud, bossy girlfriend is that she’s confident and unafraid. And to Tony, these are positive qualities.

Tony likes Thor. They got off to a rocky start, but by the end of alien war they were good. And here they have a chance to build on that camaraderie. From Tony’s perspective, Thor also has a chance to meet a decent version of his brother. And since Tony’s never had a real family, and wants one, he hopes that Thor gets that opportunity now, even if Loki’s from another dimension.
