Miles thinks Julie is cool and creative. She's very carefree and he respects that. He thinks Victoria could've used an older brother, and he wants to watch out for her. It's probably about time he checks in on her again...

Bean likes having someone his own age around, even if Victoria isn't on par with him intellectually (no one is). He recognizes that she's not like most kids and he likes that. He's happy to ignore her when she's not in a People mood or vice versa.
