break out the teal deers!

THE CR TL;DR MEME

HOW IT WORKS:

1. List your character(s)!
2. Others respond with "what does your character X think of my character Y?" or some variation.
3. Respond to them! Break out those teal deers!
4. Generate some discussion about your CR!
5. PROFIT!

There is no way you could even remotely mistake their relationship for people that have any sort of liking for one another at all, and for very good reason. Loki does not like him even the slightest bit.

Tony went after him in his first post to try to lay down the law when most everyone else waffled whether or not they recognized him, and he actually appreciates that in a weird way. Like, he was pissed. He was totally pissed, and he dislikes the fact that he can't turn him around to be a useful asset, but there's still a value there that he can recognize.

He does like that he's half-certain he has Tony mostly settling on the understanding that he's a crazy child-god even if he had to get thrown into the ocean to do it, and still they have their arguments and conflict. It's become a type of entertainment to him. Once in a while they careen out of control and other things have to stop them, which is usually indicated by a thing where suddenly Loki's threatening to harm people because he knows it'll get a rise out of the hero. It's practically turned into their safe-word at this point.

Still, somehow he turned into the one man that Loki actually speaks frankly to from time to time. He's actually confessed the bulk of what he wants to Tony, but he just never does it exactly when the man demands it of him. They have a lot in common, and it makes it easier for the two of them to interact on the same level.

(Which that is probably a huge insult, but they do.)

Their current tiff is going to knock that off course for a very short time, mostly because Loki knows how to bounce back from an unexpected loss. This is almost a professional association between the two of them. Their game gives him an outlet he doesn't otherwise have, and he's not going to lose that. He's had his chances to obliterate Tony, and he's not even trying to take them.

Not yet, anyway. If he ever does, well, it's just business.

I'm really amused by their conversations and how they manage to kick up weird moments of truth. Tony assumes Loki is either lying or manipulating the truth without question, but a few times Loki's confessions have caught him off guard and thrown a wrench in that constant. And he tends to respond in kind so it leads to him asking things even when he knows it won't be a good idea. He doesn't want to relate to Loki but he can't stop himself from getting personal (which will only come back to bite him later).

Loki also draws out Tony's more opportunistic side. They seem to be mastering the art of getting along while not getting along.
