Gene's cool. A little standoffish, but not off-puttingly so. It's a little weird for Tony, since Gene knows another version of him and Tony's still kind of touchy about alternate realities, but he's trying to get over it and not being a douche to Gene is part of that. He also thinks that he probably ought to try being his friend (as much as he can be) due to them being friends in Gene's reality. Or so he thinks.

Oh okay, looks like they're in the same boat re: off-putting alternate realities.

And YAS FRIENDS. ;A; So far as Tony's concerned Gene both sees him as a font of information about how to exploit any and all Starks, and as a way to kind of make up for being such a raging douche to his Tony. He's pretty conflicted about it, actually.

Tony would completely get using him to make up for past actions. That's the kind of thing he would do too. I think if he got to know him better, Tony would find that he's got a lot in common with Gene. Minus the whole Mandarin thing. Idk how he'd react to that.

But Tony. He's not like a regular Mandarin. He's a cool Mandarin.

But yeah, one of my favorite things about Gene is that he's a really good foil to Tony in the show, so I'm really excited to play him against your MCU Tony and see how that develops too. :D

Me too! Especially if Tony ever finds out that Gene's the Mandarin, what that means, and if he ever gets canon updated to realize what happens in his own timeline where the Mandarin's concerned.

Not gonna lie, I'm interested to see what would happen if Gene ever found out about the MCU Mandarin. He would be at the very least insulted.

Tony might be insulted on Gene's behalf too. Trevor's just. No. That isn't something anyone wants to be even remotely connected to.
