Can you spell 'ptsd'. Because it's a thing. Being in pain (untreated closed spiral fracture!) for three/four days constantly wears down a person unbelievably, and although Jim's super resilient, that coupled with the fact that he knew his friends were being tortured kind of. Makes for a very unhappy space captain.

His coping methods include: ignoring it, drinking too much, and more ignoring it! Jim recognizes that he's got all the hallmarks of PTSD, he's just. Refusing to actually find anyone to talk to about it. Oops.

He also thinks he basically fucked everything up and blames himself for most of the whole thing since he was the one who broke cover first and. Yep.

Publicly, Bruce is very fond of things that take over forty seconds to order at Starbucks (venti triple shot americano expresso vanilla chai etc etc I don't even know if those are real drinks). Privately, he drinks black coffee, tea when Alfred makes it (I don't think he knows what kind it actually is) and he doesn't drink alcohol because he needs to always be ready to jump up and go dress up as a giant fucking bat, but the few times he's been drunk in his life (after Jason died, when Alfred left to go to Europe, etc) it was Scotch. So. Take from that what you will.
