Tl;dr Mega Meme Bonanza

THE TL;DR MEGA MEME BONANZA

Comment with a list of your characters, receive questions, or just tl;dr on your own unprompted! Here's some suggestions.

◘ What does your character think of mine?
◘ What goes on during our handwaved CR? How much handwaved CR do we have?
◘ Canon information, for those unfamiliar with your canon.
◘ All sorts of headcanon questions-- sleeping positions, childhoods, past sexual or romantic history, etc.
◘ Would your character date mine?
◘ If they were put under a truth spell, what would come out?
◘ Where do you want to go with your character, story arc wise?
◘ Give an example of their daily routine in Keeliai.
◘ Who do they miss most from home? Would they go back if they could?
◘ What kind of music do you listen to while tagging? What does your character listen to ICly?
◘ Elaborate on what you've been working on improving in your writing style lately.
◘ What would their daemon spirit animal be, as from His Dark Materials?
◘ What have been your favorite threads with me?
◘ What do their dragons look like in Flight Rising?

And much, much more! Go wild! I recommend making a plain top level comment with just your list of characters, and replying to yourself to fill out things on your own.

Oh my god, Chel, let me tell you how hard it is for Jim to be away from the Enterprise.

One of the statements about the original Kirk that really struck me is that Jim's the sort of person that mirrors that Holmesian need to constantly be busy, doing something, and that will slip into a sort of malaise of the soul without something to occupy his mind. It's one of the reasons TOS!Jim was such a bookworm/nerd.

And although these Jims grew up fundamentally different, I honestly think AOS!Jim is probably worse in that regard. TOS!Jim had a lot of events that shaped him (being a survivor of Tarsus, etc) but he also had a stable and loving home life, and he had a longer period of time to adjust to his adulthood before he shouldered the responsibility of being a captain. I think AOS!Jim is completely not ready for what he's been thrown into, and I am 100 percent convinced that Starfleet being like 'YOU HAD ONE DAY OF BLIND DUMB LUCK LOL BETTER MAKE YOU A CAPTAIN' thing was basically a publicity stunt/something done to boost enlistment rates (because maybe you don't have to spend 10+ years struggling to become a captain! Maybe you can be like Jim Kirk!)

So basically

Most of Jim's identity is wrapped up in the Enterprise. His life was like this:

> kind of aimless drifting
> SUDDENLY A GOAL!!! ACADEMY STUFF! LEARNING!
> SUDDENLY A CAPTAIN!! fuck yeah captain!

and now he's in Keeliai and he doesn't have any of that anymore, with the added benefit of feeling like he never should have been a captain, because from everything he's seen/learned about the 'future' has slapped him in the face with all the bad decisions he made. Jim's self confidence is hardly bulletproof, even if he pretends it is, and being trapped in some new place surrounded by superheroes/people that can do fantastic things is making it even worse. Because what the hell good is a captain without his ship/crew, around people who can basically destroy planets with their mind?

He's basically losing his mind, and having to build himself up again from nothing/a completely shattered sense of ability and self-confidence, because he's no longer the biggest dick on the dance floor.

He definitely has been kind of adopting people into his 'crew'. People he can trust and rely on, and who kind of have a surrogate function in Keeliai. Jim kind of still considers himself to be ~in charge~ of these people because he doesn't know how to let that aspect of his personality go (or how to ... really look at people as equals because captains are supposed to be perfect!! and that means never showing weakness!!! right?) so he's leaning on them but not too much which is basically bringing him even closer to a fracture point because he's trying to do/manage/figure everything out on his own. BASICALLY HE'S HEADED FOR A HUGE MESSY BREAKDOWN SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE.

But it's good for him to have people who don't put up with his shit, either, and who essentially recognize (like Bruce does) that he just needs a good kick in the ass.

Idiot boy with too much on his shoulders and who got there without having to earn any of it: kind of issues. In summary.
