Good morning, intrepid chelonauts! Alex here with the results of the mod team applications that closed last night. Both Roy and myself are happy to welcome the following parties to the mod team and so please join us in welcoming them!

Mod Team Changes
NPC & Event Mod
After careful consideration of the applications received, we are happy to introduce Li as taking on two roles in our mod team expansion! She will become the new NPC mod and the new Event mod. She currently plays Jack Frost, Raven, and Stocking Anarchy. Rumour has it that she likes long walks in the Arctic and Timmy's coffee -- shaken, but not stirred.

App Mods
Another tough decision, but we narrowed it down to Chel, Claire, and Marie! Chel currently plays Bruce Banner and Willow Rosenburg; her favourite colour is SCIENCE and she enjoys frolicking about as the Happy Hulk. Claire currently plays Leonard McCoy, purveyor of tribbles; word is that she likes to inflict entire populations with the fuzzy things and takes joy in the discomfort of Dr. Happy Pants McCoy. Marie currently plays Bart Allen, the one-second booooooy this statement got out of hand quickly; AHEM, she is apparently fond of red-gold Snappers and DC family feels!

The app mods will be hitting the ground running, so to speak, and Li will be transitioning into her new role throughout the remainder of the month. Please be patient with the little cheloleaders as they just hatched out of their shells and are exploring this new world. :3

Those are the changes to the mod team, so let's please welcome them and extend our thanks to everyone that applied!

Information Pages Updated
And a quick note to state that most of the information pages have been updated and/or tweaked, including the event summary. The welcome and premise pages have been overhauled and we've introduced an IC question area called "The Inquisitive Mind" to help build an IC FAQ of questions characters may ask on arrival and have answered or addressed.

Hiatus

Hey guys. I am just drained right now--not even RP drive, which I have in spades. I'm just tired and need a couple weeks to recharge. Also, I just just just now lost my glasses and if I need new ones that might take a while, and this is hugely non-trivial for me. So I'll be on hiatus starting tomorrow. See you guys when I am less wilted.

Haunted House is a go!

As a result of this thread, Mark and Barry Allen are looking to create a haunted house in Keeliai. They've secured a warehouse thanks to Bruce Wayne, and now they need people to help make it the scariest thing ever (scary fun, guys, serial killers need not apply). They’ve been spreading the word since they secured the space, including putting out an advertisement on the radio so anyone, regardless of whether or not they have existing CR with either one of them, is welcome to come and help out.


The “House”:
The Haunted House will actually be a haunted warehouse, but close enough. Located in the metal district, it’s your pretty standard warehouse, and as such it can be broken up into sections with temporary walls and curtains and whatever else the characters might come up.

Each “room” will have its own theme, and will require a small team to come up with and execute the concept. For example, one room might be your standard classic Hollywood horror fare (Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.), while another might be more “practical” fears (failing a test, expired milk, etc.). The subject of each room is totally up to the characters.

Some of the most common fears experienced in a haunted house are clowns, chainsaws, darkness, claustrophobia, dolls, sometimes spiders/snakes, and vampires.


What they need:
Volunteers! Haunted Houses don’t just make themselves, and while they are both talented superheroes, creating haunted houses isn’t in either ones resume. This is meant to be fun, so they will gladly welcome anyone who wishes to help and find them a job.

Jobs would include but not be limited to:
Scenic (construction, paintings, set design, props, fog, pneumatics, lighting, hanging curtains, etc)
Security (making sure people don’t harass the actors or each other)
Operations (people to keep things organized)
Makeup (prosthetic design and creation, artists)
Costumes (design, creation, someone actually costuming the actors)
Cast (director, casting, actors)
Creating and hanging up flyers advertising throughout the city

And as this is TuShan, please feel free to make this as ridiculous as possible. If characters want to attempt to build a fully functional robot to scare the crap out of people, they are more than welcome to.

Wealthy patrons who wish to give them Juulan for props or costumes are also welcome.


My character just wants to go through the house!
No problem! Their work would be for nothing if there weren't people to go through it, after all.

The haunted house will open October 25th and will run until the 27th. There will be an announcement made when it opens and a log will follow. The log will give a general breakdown of the haunted house and then every can go nuts walking through it.
