Good evening, Tu Shanshu!
Box and I have been plotting something for a bit now, and have indeed hashed this out and brought it through the appropriate channels. A few of you might have heard mutters about it from my end – or, really, mostly my textually sobbing about Gilgamesh being his usual, troublesome self. However, we can now present it to you all as powers are back online.
In either case, this is a two-step process. The first bit of news is that Kotomine Kirei, resident priest, will be setting up a church in the Earth Sector. The second bit of news that ties into it is that he will not be solely offering up church services, and you have Gilgamesh to thank for that. Or condemn. As you do.
Gilgamesh, who actually belongs in the Fire Sector, will take up his usual habit of hanging around, and will be “improving” upon said services by offering black market wine (well, temporarily - he'll just make the luxury item a little more plentiful again with his "help"). Yes, what I am saying is that the church will also serve as a front for Gilgamesh’s illicit distributions, as so graciously provided by his Gate of Babylon (see: Encyclopedia of Tangible Human Knowledge). However, the term “offering up” is a bit of a falsity. Gilgamesh will not accept anything less than a good chunk of change or an object of interest. These objects have been specified in a post I’ll link you all to later. Fear not. If you’re wondering about his stock and the quality, it is reasonable to say that you don’t have to worry about him running out and that this wine is not his best wine, but it is probably better than any wine you’d usually purchase for yourself. He keeps all the best stuff, naturally. Don’t ask him to be too generous.
However, like with everything else about Gilgamesh, there are about a million asterisks presented with this distribution. Due to Gilgamesh’s nature, you cannot assume the first trade with him. He is a fickle, petty, and ill-tempered tyrant. There is a very good chance that you will not get wine if you talk to him incorrectly, are somehow blacklisted by prior interactions (just ask me and I can tell you if your character is or not – you could always have someone else get it for them, but don’t let him figure that one out), catch him on a day he doesn’t feel like distributing, or is just in a plain horrible mood. Similarly, if you don’t offer him enough, you notably will not get anything.
So, let’s break it down:
( I won't let you down on the tl;dr, seriously. )
