The streets of Keeliai have been quiet in the aftermath of the gang war and, with the exception of the storm and fire in Earth Sector, little has disrupted the day-to-day life of the kedan and foreigners alike. Everything seems peaceful... too peaceful, amirite?
That'd explain why Murphy (not the 'Karrin' kind either) kicked it into overtime to mess things up. Starting October 24th and concluding on October 31st, there will be the rise and fall of a population of ghosts in the city of Keeliai. That's right! It will be effectively (and temporarily) haunted, much to the confusion of its residents. After all, it's not often that those believed 'moved on' from the In-Between can make the trek back!
The Intangible Ghosts:
All of the apparitions that appear were kedan in life. Some died of natural causes, some were killed during the recent gang war and fire, and others passed away due to other means. No matter the cause, they will return in a population that fluctuates between a few hundred and a few thousand scattered about Keeliai for the duration of this event.
Each ghost will vary between being a faint, monochromatic projection to something of defined lines and colours. They will have a variety of shapes, from the typical humanoid kedan to things that crawled out of a horror movie's imagination.
This trend of variety, from the mundane to the monstrous, will continue with the actions these ghosts will take. Some will follow Foreigners around, seeking their way home and some will try to help with everyday tasks, from cleaning to cooking, but to little effect. Others will be sad and/or crying. Some will be angry and yelling at any that disrupt them. On the whole, these ghosts will do no harm as they cannot manifest more than an appearance and sound, sometimes a smell.
The Poltergeists:
These are the ghosts most similar to poltergeists in that they can move and possess inanimate objects. They will be found most frequently in the suites, banging on the walls and shifting furniture about to make room for projects that they, in their double-the-afterlife glory, feel should be undertaken, be it unfinished tasks from life or common jobs they completed in their everyday.
The Angry Poltergeists:
Additionally, there will be a brand of slightly more dangerous ghosts out there. Rarest of all, they harbour something of a grudge against the living and may seek revenge for those that still have the appearance of living and breathing in the In-Between. Each Sector has its own particular brand, from ghosts submerged in the waterways and ready to drown bystanders to ones that act like a will-o-wisp in Wood to lure curious high into the tree branches until their weight might break them.
The Ghostbusters:
All these ghosts getting your character down? Don't worry! There are a handful of kedan in each Sector wandering around with black masks, ridiculous beards, and swords that they claim are blessed, offering to vanquish resident ghosts. Some do this for free and others charge a fee, with the results of each being varied from success to utter failure.
