  1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
  2. Tag around with everyone!
  3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
  1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
  2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!
  3. Hey, I Just Met You, and This is Crazy...
First impressions are always the most important, right?
  4. WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

hi!

The trip to get here was exactly the reason Raven liked it-- not that she was having to do the walking, transporting easily through portals of her own creation but she felt it helped weed out some of those more obnoxious ones who'd otherwise interrupt her while she was trying to meditate. Today her usual spot wasn't empty though and when Raven appeared some feet away she took a moment to regard the hunched over figure who seemed peaceful enough, if somewhat sullen in posture before speaking to make herself known.

"Hard to beat the view from here."

Hello!

"Yeah."

She says it to the ocean, and looks around only afterwards to get a look at the speaker. She's been fairly constantly hoping that she'll run into another viking around her, but one thing she can tell about Raven: she's definitely not a viking.

Astrid turns back to the view.

"Makes it feel like we're on an island, not a giant turtle."
zinthosmantra: (for we cannot help)

"I think I prefer it being a turtle," Raven commented, choosing not to sit until she knew whether it would be an intrusion. The sense of peace that suffused the air was calming, making the teen more preferential to having an intelligent conversation rather than just disapparating away to find another place to meditate.

"If this were just an island, who knows what they might have done to it already. It could be a suburb."

If anything, Raven choosing to stand is going to give Astrid a sore neck every time - like now - she turns to look at her. In this case, it's to raise an eyebrow questioningly.

"What's a suburb?"

Then she picks up the axe at her side and moves it to the other side of her, patting the top of the head to indicate that Raven should sit down if she wants.
zinthosmantra: (an echo murmured back the word)

[personal profile] zinthosmantra 2013-07-03 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
"It's a type of neighbourhood with a lot of houses all in one area, usually outside of a bigger city and usually known for families and, depending on the movie setting, really disturbing lifestyles," Raven explains, sitting and folding her legs gracefully in front of her before lowering the hood of her cape, her voice taking on a wry note of amusement.

"You're from somewhere that hasn't experienced the joy of suburbia? That... kind of makes you more fortunate than the rest of us."

[personal profile] its_communication 2013-07-03 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Astrid shrugs at that. She's not exactly sure if she'd call herself lucky for it, but she's never lived it so she wouldn't know.

"The village on Berk isn't nearly as big as that city back there. I didn't even know you could get so many people living in one place. And a suburb would be as well as a city?"

She presses the corner of her mouth together as she tries to imagine that.

"How would they eat?"
zinthosmantra: (vainly I had sought to borrow)

[personal profile] zinthosmantra 2013-07-03 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Keeliai is the size of many cities on Earth," Raven observed. "And food is transported in from farmlands and other regions, and other countries as well."

Having to explain this strikes her as odd so she ventures more information. "My name is Raven. You're from somewhere called... Berk?"

[personal profile] its_communication 2013-07-03 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the name of the island," Astrid explains with a shrug, helpless to offer a better explanation.

"And the village. Where are you from?"
zinthosmantra: (eagerly I wished the morrow)

[personal profile] zinthosmantra 2013-07-03 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Raven nods as though conveying that the description was enough and pondered her answer for a moment. "I've been living in Jump City," she answered. "But I'm from a place called Azarath. There are things in Keeliai that remind me of both places so it's been... interesting."
its_communication: <user name="crapnahalficons" site="livejournal.com"> (08)

[personal profile] its_communication 2013-07-03 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"How are they different?"

Astrid assumes Jump City is a bit like Keeliai in being a large city, but that doesn't leave much comparison for Azarath.
zinthosmantra: (now burned into my bosom's core)

[personal profile] zinthosmantra 2013-07-03 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Azarath is peaceful," the purple-haired teen answered easily. "Jump City... is anything but. Some of the architecture here reminds me of the monk's temples, but the level of technology here in Keeliai is more like Earth. It seems to be a blend of science and magic."
its_communication: <user name="crapnahalficons" site="livejournal.com"> (10)

[personal profile] its_communication 2013-07-04 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm guessing," Astrid says after a moment's pause, "that the temples are an Azarath thing?"

Some things she needs spelled out.

"We don't have either. I mean, I can't tell at all what's magic and what isn't, even though people keep saying there's a difference."
