It's not. Trust me, I've tried everything I could think of to trip someone up or get a hold of someone useful. No sign of Dad or Mum or Bes or anyone. It doesn't feel like the Duat, anyway. [A pause] And time apparently stops while we're here so weeks to me was just seconds to you so sorry, Carter, but it looks like you don't get a few sister free weeks.

Excuse you! [Yes, he makes a face at the Miss part, but - he's seen enough to be able to tell that she's fine, or at least mostly so, and now his attention is back around them. Sadie... may not need immediate protection, but that doesn't mean he's not going to keep an eye out.]

Hey, if I want a few sister-free weeks, I ask Uncle Amos to organize a training and ship you off with the entire Nome, not... want you to be stuck somewhere alone!

...As far as I know, there isn't a way home. Not that we can use on our own, anyway.

People just leave at random times, though they always arrive around the same time every week.

[His hand reaches for her elbow without him actually thinking about it. She doesn't do scared, and so he won't acknowledge it with words, or with questions. Unless it gets worse, of course. But he's not going to ignore it, either.]

Yeah, well. Those people aren't you and I, Sadie. Arriving around the same time every week, got it. Leaving at random times, got it. Demigods showing up every week, got it.

Has any of them actually made trouble for you? You know, for being on your own?

No, actually, they've all been helpful. Leo's getting hamster-ized the next time I see him, but Jason and Percy and Annabeth and the rest are pretty nice.
