How to play? Reply to this post with the characters you play, people will then reply to you asking 'What does X think of my character Y?' then zoom around and ping other people in the same manner to generate some CR chatter! This is a good way to see where your current CR stands and what your characters secretly think of each other.

omg Inara. okay. Bruce is a little intimidated by her, but not for the usual reasons she probably gets. It's not because she's beautiful and completely poised (though she is), it's because she's so totally in control and he admires that immensely. He strives for it and never quite manages it, but Inara seems to pull it off with effortless grace. he's normally the controlled one in the relationship, and in her case he's not, so it puts him in an odd position.

It does make him want to open up to her. You play her tendency to get people to open up and set them at ease very well, and Bruce isn't immune to it. She's very soothing, and to Bruce, that's a hugely desirable quality that he rarely if ever finds. The way she just accepts whatever he says with equanimity has rapidly endeared her to him. Additionally, he's curious about what's beneath her exterior, but he knows that in his case he's hiding a huge amount of his true character, and he assumes that Inara must have something going on, too. But he absolutely returns her respect for his privacy and doesn't want to push her on it. he is looking out for it, though.

I predict they'll become relatively close friends as time goes on in a slow, gradual process. More out of unspoken consistency than any overt dramatic gestures.
