OKAY SO REMEMBER THAT BOTCHED POST IORVETH MADE ABOUT 'THERE SOME SHIT THAT WILL KILL US' AFTER WHICH HE PROCEEDED TO BE A PARANOID DOUCHEBAG TO EVERYONE?

Well, there was a decent sized group of people he let know about what the Emperor told him - people he thought would be useful to a secretive kind of investigation given that he didn't want the Emperor or the kedan or anyone else to really be aware it was happening - considering Malicant can be anyone and also the Emperor is super suspicious 8TTT ANYWHO, SO THOSE PEOPLE HE TALKED TO ABOUT IT - I HAVE A PLOTTY THING.

Given that Iorveth sort of naturally leads units of people in his canon, he'd likely get immediately cracking on this and try to organize people to assist with it. He's super concerned about this and wants to figure out how to defeat this thing like yesterday, so he'll probably want to call up the people he spoke to (or write them letters because eff the network 8T), and try to figure out how they're going to do this. Especially now that he's hearing from Fenris that the turtle told him last time Malicant posed as a rebellion leader - and any of the authority figures in Keeliai could be Malicant. THE ENEMY COULD ALREADY BE AMONG US 8TTTTTTT So, so paranoid tbh.

I wanted to get an idea for who all would like to be involved in investigation, now and in the future of the game to try to uncover info on what they're facing. I've spoken to the mods and we've talked over the possibility of some people ninjaing into the Palace and snooping around in restricted area and maybe finding some clues within there, so would anyone be up for that?

Honestly it's, sob, really difficult to get stuff from him, but I can help try to find an IC way for us to do it. It's moooost likely that you'll have to have been around for the initial post he made about it, because otherwise, he will not be saying shit about it in public. Maybe if you're new we can see if your character could have heard from someone else that he has info on the big bad they're facing?

Javert would snoop around... legally. That is, he might seek out the information if he got wind of Iorveth's plans and organizations, and in fact he might even do something if it were asked of him, but mostly it'd be for the public good. He does not trust Iorveth completely, remember.

What would Javert do, curiously, if the Emperor pressed him for info on what Iorveth is up to?

That depends on the question. Javert works for her, technically, but he does not like to lay out his own suspicions until he is absolutely certain of guilt/innocence. If pressed he would admit that Iorveth seems aggressive and like an unpredictable loose cannon. -- If Javert is 100% aware of illegal activity, he would certainly indicate that it is occurring.......

For the most part. I can conceivably imagine a situation where his conscience would be torn, and that is if public safety is at stake. However I am not convinced that Javert would be in full support of Iorveth's methods...

BASICALLY I think this would overall swing in the Emperor's favor, but Javert makes a really shitty snitch because he would come out and tell people that he is going to confess all of this if he truly believes it is wrong lol. Wow I am actually not sure this helped at all because it was a long-winded way to say "Needs more details"

I'd love to do something with this, if you're game. It'll create a lot of interesting IC conflict for a lot of characters involved.

I am completely game and will do it. I think this is exactly the sort of thing Javert needs -- the legality versus 'morally correct' paths. It will give him the cognitive dissonance that HE REALLY, FRANKLY, NEEDS in order to develop further.

So yes, please, let's do this. AND JAVERT IS terribly honest so in front of the Emperor, either way, he is unlikely to tell a single lie... and it will be a really huge deal if he does.
