[Unfortunately the quiet doesn't last too long. Not when someone's popping their head out of the water not far from the beach and letting out a happy little 'Woo!'

Swimming back to the shore, the young man offers a grin when he spots Piper. Lifting goggles from his eyes and leaving them resting on his head, he waves.]

Hi!

[Walking onto the sand, he tugs his shorts up a little grins again. He glances up and down the beach before his gaze resettles on Piper.]

Do you see a shirt around here anywhere? Red one with big white star on the front?

[charmspeaks]

[For maybe two seconds, Piper thinks it's Percy out there in the water. This must be a real paradise for him, after all, surrounded by the water. But then she realizes it's not really him.

Her hand lifts in a wave, a confused smile on her face.] Hey, sorry. I haven't seen any clothes out here. Are you sure this is the side of the turtle you dived in at?

Huh.

[He looks around and shrugs.]

Well it's probably the same side but I'm not sure. No big deal.

[Sitting down, he offers a hand.]

I'm Kyle. Nice to meet you.

[charmspeaks]

There was a breeze earlier. They could have blown away.

[She looks at him in surprise before taking his hand and giving it a firm shake.]

Piper. Nice to meet you, too.

[wavedude]

You'd be surprised how often that happens to me. I think it might be a wind spirit messing with me.

[He just keeps smiling, unbothered by possibly losing his shirt.]

[charmspeaks]

[She arches an eyebrow at him, pretty amused by the idea of someone not being able to keep their shirt. And then there's a pause.] Hate to break it to you, but I don't think there are a lot of uh, wind spirits here.

[There's a shake of her head.] No, not today.

[wavedude]

You don't? Guess you're right. I probably would have run into them by now if they were around.

Too bad. Water's great. What brings you down to the beach today then?

[charmspeaks]

[A beat.] You run into spirits often?

[She's quiet for a second before shrugging.] I like the quiet. Not a lot of people leave the city.

[wavedude]

[He nods. Ever since I found out my Dad's the water one. And I'm like...half spirit. No idea how that works. Magic stuff, huh?

Oh. Uh, sorry I ruined your quiet.

[charmspeaks]

Magic stuff. [There's an exasperated tone to her voice as she agrees. Ugh. She understands all too well about that, being a demigod.] Your dad's a... water spirit? Like a male naiad? Wait, I don't think nymphs are male.

[herpderp.]

Oh, no, don't worry about it. It was getting too quiet anyway.

[wavedude]

[The exasperation gets a slight nod out of Kyle. It's always nice to find someone else that understands.] Yeah, he told me he was the spirit of water and had all these pretty cool powers like healing my sorry backside after I almost got myself killed trying to surf a wave way too big for me. What's a naiad?

That's when things start getting dangerous isn't it? [He chuckles.] Hopefully nothing jumps out looking for trouble.
