[ He's made to work in water. His suit is made for it, but even still, he doesn't chance the force of it. He'd been expecting something uncoordinated and clumsy, not like what the boy had just shot toward him. He'd been so much more inexperienced, the first time they met.

He laughed, more of a sharp bark than a full on cackle, but between the diver's shiv and the wicked blade, Black Manta was fearsome.

And he was fast, the red coming from his helmet leaving bright streaks to hang and dissipate in the air, before he strikes forward with a blade. The shiv, rather than the wicked, nasty looking one.

No need to step forward with too much, too quick. ]

[Fast and efficient, Kaldur knows that if he does not keep up, Manta will take control of this battle too easily. He switched as quickly as he can from the heavy flow back to normal weapons, in one hand a sword and the other a shield to block the shiv and then he pushes back, trying to force that hand out of reach while bringing his sword to strike in an upward slash.]

[ His shiv glanced off the shield, easily. But he used the momentum to direct himself, make himself move just as quickly, bringing his other weapon to stop the sword, catching it between the twin blades arcing from his fist.

He laughed, again, glancing the blade away from him this time, and letting his shiv aim for his arm.
