[Catty pls. Catty no. Catty stahp.

Vanessa's making a particularly pained face, glancing around nervously in case anyone sees her friend being particularly terrible. It was bad enough when they would skip out on meals as she time traveled! But now, with her powers from the Atrox or her father or whatever...]

Catty. [With a strained smile, she plucks the bracelet out of her friend's hand, handing it back to the confused kedan merchant.] No thank you, ma'am. She's changed her mind.

[traitorously]

Wh - Vanessa. [There's a faint hint of a whine to the name. Catty pouts at her friend. Why so mean??] No, I didn't.

[The kedan makes like she's going to offer the bracelet back to Catty, but the girl is too busy focussing on her friend to care]

[fatedchaos]

[Don't you whine at her, missy.] Yes, you did.

[Vanessa sees the way the poor woman is trying to offer her bracelet again, so she just grabs Catty by the wrist and pulls her away from the stall, scowling.] You know that they need the money from their sells. Why would you do that?

[traitorously]

[Catty let's Vanessa drag her, but she's huffing as she does it] She doesn't. Besides, she bought it from someone who stole it. She totally knew, she just decided not to ask too many questions.

[fatedchaos]

That- [Catty, you are becoming a problem.] That doesn't make it right for you to steal it too! Were you going to give it back to the original owner?

[traitorously]

[Catty sniffs] I didn't think it through that far. I was mostly, you know, teaching her a lesson for being a jerk. But now she'll sell the bracelet for a profit and the gangs will know that they can go to her to pawn the stuff they steal. [And Catty doesn't have a cute bracelet 8c]

[fatedchaos]

You're not teaching her a lesson, Catty. [She feels like she's her mother right now.] What you're doing is stealing, too. The gangs are going to find someone to sell things to. We can't stop that, and stealing is definitely not going to help. [Vanessa sighs, sliding her arm through Catty's.]

[traitorously]

Why can't we stop that? [Catty leans into Vanessa as the other girl threads her arm through hers] We stopped the most evil thing in the entire world, you don't think we can deal with a few puny gangs?

[fatedchaos]

Stopping evil and stopping people? [Catty makes sense. Why can't they? But on a more rational level, Vanessa knows why.] Defeating the Atrox was our destiny. It didn't belong in the world. But this is not our business. Where does the crime end? How deep will it go?

[traitorously]

[Catty's eyebrows crawl up her forehead] Are you seriously telling me that we shouldn't stop bad things because it's not our business??

[fatedchaos]

[Vanessa makes a face.] No, I don't mean it like that! I just think you committing a crime isn't helping either. [You're doing a bad thing too, Catty.]

[traitorously]

It's not a crime. She was going to give it to me.

[fatedchaos]

Because you mind jumbled her!

[traitorously]

Uh, how do you know that? Maybe she was just being generous.

[fatedchaos]

[Just giving you a look, Catty.]

[traitorously]

You always assume the worst of me. [8c]

[fatedchaos]

Tell me you didn't convince her to hand you over her merchandise. [:/]

[traitorously]

[There's a pause, and then she throws up the hand that isn't currently attached to Vanessa] Stealing from a thief is not a crime!

[fatedchaos]

Yes it is. [e___e]

[traitorously]

What? No it's not. Not unless you're stealing something that they didn't steal. Which, incidentally, I was definitely not doing. [On most occasions. Some of the kedan were just rude, they were asking for it]

[fatedchaos]

Catty, no matter how you spin it, you're still stealing something. And it's not even just the stealing. You're using your powers to hurt people. [Vanessa's voice is soft, a frown tugging at her lips.] This isn't who you are.

[traitorously]

[There's a pause, where something flashes behind Catty's eyes, dark and angry. She's not used to people arguing with her, anymore. And then she's all smiles again, sighing dramatically] Okay, okay! I'm sorry, all right? I won't happen again, I promise.

[fatedchaos]

[There's a lot of guilt pressing down on Vanessa, especially when she sees the anger in Catty's eyes, but she's not going to back down.] Good.

[traitorously]

Good! [She presses closer to Vanessa again. She doesn't like feeling like that.] Hey, how about we go back to when the bracelet was being stolen and stop it?

[fatedchaos]

[Crying!!] No. Absolutely not. No way.
