In light of recent events, we're going to be laying some aspects of Tu Shanshu's metaplot aside for the near future, and that's where you guys come in!

We don't usually run a lot of slice-of-life events around here (at least ones without an undercurrent of plot), but that's exactly what we're looking for now. We'd like suggestions for something that's fun, low-pressure and light-hearted, so if anyone has anything in mind that might work for the entirety of the game, we'd love to hear it! We won't be able to use everything that's brought up, but please don't be shy - there might be elements of several plots that we decide to mix together and incorporate for Pretendy Fun Times.

In the meantime, the lovely Mari has provided a fun little meme over yonder for distraction purposes. Good luck and happy hearting!

With midsummer coming up soon, why not some sort of festival for that?

Quoted, crazy bonfires and maypoles, stat IE; a Beltaine festival of some sort, complete with fertility-relevant "activities" if people are so inclined.

Two ideas. One of which is borderline crack, and the other being slightly less crack-y:

(1) Musical Event. Somehow, someway, something effects the residents of the Turtle so that spontaneous musical numbers will occur. Either background theme music following them, or the characters themselves bursting into song at convenient (or inconvenient) moments


(2) Some form of Talent Show/Performance Event. Where characters can show off a little of what they know from home. For example, Zatanna is a magician who could pull Wally a rabbit out of her hat. Or, you know, something a bit more original. Other characters with other talents could also put them on display. A lighthearted celebration of who everyone is and where they come from to counteract all the Hate they've been getting as Foreigners.

How about we have some fun with the powers? Powerless people getting powers, metas losing theirs, power-switching...

Maybe a bodyswap event too? Or an event where characters wake up to find themselves in someone else's suite?

Does the world of Tu Vishan have something akin to Northern Lights, except... not necessarily Northern? Tu Vishan took them down to the zombies, he can take them down to something beautiful/inspiring that does not go counter to the overall plot, maybe.

Seconding or thirding, or whatever, a few things like body swap, power swap, and musical event! I love swaps of all kind and they're typically humorous, however, people are able to take them to a more dramatic level if they so wish! There's also of course gender swap and personality swap! Usually with personality swaps, instead of swapping with another person, I tend to see people just doing the opposite of their character's personality, which is fun to play with! I... really like these sorts of things! Festivals would be fun too!

I really love the idea of Tu Vishan taking them somewhere beautiful/inspiring/peaceful, if it would work in with the game mechanics. The rationing is still going on, but maybe Those In Charge could allow a festival or something in the interests of easing tensions so there isn't riots on the street with the kedan? Or there are a bunch of characters with powers/skills that could contribute to creating entertainment. There could also be a series of idk fun games and competitions in which the prizes are like YOU GET AN EXTRA LUXURY ITEM THIS WEEK or something. That way multiple characters could get involved/have something to do.
