Second Character Get
So, this is Stareyes/Zelgadis's player/
beccastareyes with a book character from Steven Brust's Dragaera books.
For those of you who don't know, Brust's books are set in the Empire of Dragaera, where (mostly?) normal humans (called Easterners, from where their native lands are) are a foreign and distrusted minority among the Dragaerans, tall, long-lived, pointy-eared, and generally elf-y looking people (who technically were genetically engineered from humans but even most of the ones who should know better dismiss that as impossible). There are two sets of books in the series: the auto-biographical narration of one Vladimir Taltos, a Easterner, witch and sometimes assassin; and a set of novels that purport to be in-universe historical fiction, set 1000-300 years before Vlad's day/their rough publication dates. (See the long-lived bit; many characters appear in both.)
Tazendra is from the latter. She's nobility, and rather racist/classist about it. She also is from a caste of insane-by-human-standards warriors who are said not to feel fear. So, she likes fighting. She also likes drinking, gambling, magical research (usually of the explosive kind)*, general going out and having fun, and painting (everyone needs a hobby).
* Which thankfully she will be barred from until the next landfall at least. Dragaeran sorcery is powered by things that aren't particularly stable, and Tazendra is working without the normal safeguards (aka a rock that orbits the seated Emperor/Empress's head that regulates sorcery).
