Conclusion | Activity Requirements & Hiatus Exemption

Further to this discussion post, we're pleased to present two changes in the gameplay structure of Tu Shanshu!

Activity Requirements:
The current activity requirement of one post and ten comments in a thread per character in a month is changing based on the feedback received. Starting with the November 2012 activity period (November 1-30), the activity requirements are as follows:

>One post (network or log) with at least an effort made to reply

OR

>Twenty comments with the character; these comments can come from up to four threads; they must have been started within the AC period and at least one of the threads must involve a character not used to meet the previous month's AC

While the point of threads started just prior to the end of the previous month was raised, we will not be adjusting the AC to include these at this time. This position is because we feel the adjustment to an either/or system will reduce the number of posts at the end of a month and therefore reduce the risk of not making AC the following month because of threads started late in the month.

We'll be monitoring the new AC requirements closely and may re-open discussion in a few months.

Hiatus Exemption:
The current hiatus rules states that a character is exempt from AC only if they are on hiatus for three weeks within the AC period. Based on the feedback received, we will be moving to a new requirement:

>A character will be exempt from AC if on hiatus for two weeks within the AC period

This means that a hiatus for November 10th to 15th would not result in an AC exemption, but a hiatus for November 10th to 25th would.

As with the AC, we will be monitoring the impact of the new hiatus exemption requirements and may re-open discussion in a few months.
