The Haunted House Breakdown

The Haunted House was designed as follows:

(Also, Pretend it's remotely to scale.)

Hhere is a breakdown of each of these rooms. These descriptions are sparse on purpose, so actors and participants alike feel free to go crazy with the details.

(Note: What happens in each of these rooms is totally up to you. Go nuts.)

Classic Hollywood Monsters – This room is designed to be dark. Actors dressed as classic Hollywood monsters (Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Mummy…) will be popping out at you.
Classic Slasher Film Villains – This room is designed to look like an American suburban street. Actors dressed as classic slasher villains like Freddie Kreuger and Jason Voorhees torment you and fellow actors (dressed as typical American teens) alike.
Maze – This room is designed to resemble a corn maze. There are lots of wrong paths to go down, but don’t worry, the actors hiding down these wrong paths are more than willing to send you back on track…
Torture Chamber – This room is designed to look like a medieval torture chamber. Actors are being tortured on replicated torture devices, and their jailers are taking delight in their pain. Just make sure they don’t see you.
Pitch Black – This hallway is pitch black. You must rely on their sense of touch to get through it, as scary sound effects try to disorient you… Wait, did you just touch blood?
Church of the Damned – This room is designed to look like a decrepit church. Actors are sacrificing a fellow actor on an altar, and fellow victims litter the floor. These priests and priestesses don’t take too well to being disturbed…
Night of the Living Dead – This room is designed to look like a cemetery. Actors dressed as zombies rise from the grave and may try to attack you, or just shuffle past you… depending on their mood.
Silent Room – Despite all of the noise throughout the rest of the house, this room is completely silent. You do not hear the sounds of anything in front of you, nor do you hear the noise of the hallway before. The room is designed to look like an old house, but is on the darker side so it is hard to see. Actors in this room are sitting silently in various places in the room, staring intently at you, and will not react to any verbal comments made at them.
Twisted Hospital – This room is designed to look like a hospital from hell. Actors are dressed as doctors and patients alike, and are either trying to torment each other (or you), or make you their next patient.
Outbreak – This room is designed to look like a post-apocalyptic street. Signs everywhere are warning you not to walk the streets without protective gear. Actors scream at you to get back inside to safety, or gasp their last painful breaths…
Werewolves – This room is designed to look like a forest. In this room, actors are in varying stages of transforming into a werewolf… and some think you look tasty.
Experimentation – This room is designed to look like a laboratory/surgery. An actor dressed as a mad scientist is learning how to make humans tick… by taking people apart/and or “adding” to them. Actors dressed as his “successful” experiments roam the room.
Reject Pile – Not all of those experiments from the room before were successful. This room is designed to look like a giant storage unit, and it’s littered with fake bodies. Actors dressed as “failed” experiments either roam the room or struggle to free themselves from the pile.
Bat Cave – This room is designed to look like an actual bat cave. Fake but lifelike bats sleep silently on the ceiling… at least until you walk into the room.
Arkham Asylum – This last room is designed to look like Arkham Asylum. Actors are dressed as various Arkham inmates, and depending on who they are portraying will either heckle you, try to get you to let them out, or just be content to sit in their cell as they people watch. Wait, are some of these cells not closed? Will you find an exit, or is one of the room’s empty cells your final destination?

Additionally, actors are hidden in the spaces designated as scare pockets and will jump out at you as you pass.

Actors, feel free to go into one or more of these rooms (it can be assumed you changed areas throughout the night). The cardinal rule of acting in a haunted house is to never physically touch a guest, but of course you are welcome to break this rule, should that be your character’s personality.

If you never signed up before and would like to have your character be an actor, go right ahead.

Anyone going through the Haunted House can feel free to NPC actors, as Mark and crew have rounded up interested or curious Kedan to help them with this project (it’s also totally up to you how successfully they grasped the concepts they’re supposed to be acting out).

Finally, Mark will be running around this weekend making sure everything runs smoothly and will appear to act as security as needed. Feel free to run into/tag him, but give me a poke either on plurk ([plurk.com profile] redconfession) or via pm, as I will have the comment notifications turned off for my inbox and my sanity.

As usual, if you have any questions/comments/concerns feel free to either reach out to me either below, via PM or on plurk ([plurk.com profile] redconfession).
