[ Clever move; one that he would have easily paid no mind to, if it weren't for the expression that accompanied it. What gives him pause is that knowing stare, that disquieting glower as if he were asserting some personal stand, as if he knew his name.

It stops Albel in spite of himself. That wasn't a bearing for any brat of three of four years, even the war-hardened ones of his home country. A measured mile or two from the alleyways where he stood led to the great mouth of the more interesting parts of the Fire Sector -- these grittier corridors were hardly the place for childplay. He considers nudging the boy north, but thinks better of it. Somehow he couldn't see him knocking a ball around with sticks in the square.

So Albel eyes him, slow and calculating.
