He's so sweet??? That is really the main thing that's stuck with her from their one and only meeting (so far) in part because she. didn't entirely expect to like him based on the whole super smart and cop thing but wow he's just adorable :3

She really wants to be his friend now since he's said he has trouble with people, because she's... herself and everyone needs friends and she will not be deterred by his social awkwardness. Obvs he reminds her of Tim, except a hell of a lot smarter, but she can't help being fond of awkward nerdy types. And she really appreciated that despite how smart he is, he didn't - make her feel stupid? She's used to that happening, even if it isn't entirely intentional, but Spencer didn't talk down to her and she managed to sort of keep up with him and he actually tried to reassure that intelligence =\= worth which isn't the normal sort of reassurance people give. It's usually "don't worry, you're totally smart!" which always feels like bs, so she was glad he didn't do that.

On the intelligence thing, Steph is aware that smart people often get reduced to their intelligence and like - she didn't wanna make a fuss everything time he did something clever, and while she realizes just how helpful he's going to be with Figuring Shit Out, she's worried about giving him the impression that she's only talking to him because of that, so she's going to try to make sure he knows that she actually likes him.

The whole profiling thing is something she's also gonna think about a lot, even if he said he wasn't gonna do it, and it's not so much a "oh no secret identities!" thing as just. she likes keeping her secrets and being able to control them, and she's self aware enough to know that she does say things/do things that could tell Spencer a lot. Like, all the self-deprecating jokes are going to stop when he's around, because while most people will just brush it off as a joke, he... probably won't and she thought it was really lovely that he reassured her when he could, but at the same time. she doesn't want him to know too much. Same with her behaviour, since she knows she has things that give her away as someone who's been abused/assaulted and she'd rather tell someone that information on her own terms. It might end being a sort of situation where she just straight up tells him stuff before he can figure it out, so that she keeps a sense of control (steph pls).

Wait I wanted to add a tiny bit more to the point above: part of her is worried that if he profiles her he'll realise how fucked up she is (she is... aware of most of her issues) and won't want to be friends with her anymore. So there's. that :c

lbr she probably already has a bit of a crush on him because she gets crushes on most people that are nice to her.......... but she's gonna be conflicted because Shit With Brandon and also she'll wonder if she's just kind of projecting her confused feelings towards Nick Gage onto Reid because cops (this is silly but. she's a 20 year old girl we can probably cut her some slack). None of that will stop her from flirting with him tho, because look at him. And she's going to keep gently teasing him in the hopes it gets him out of his shell a little.
