Peggy

UM OBVIOUSLY BEST BIG SISTER

Steph does a lot better with ladies than dude, especially when it comes to ~mentor~ sort of relationships and Peggy is flawfree anyway so it's pretty much a match made in heaven. Peggy's sort of become her substitute Babs, except... without any of the baggage that Steph and Babs have. And like - for all that she does better with lady mentors, she'a also never consistently had someone who's stuck by her. Dinah left, her mom is.. really fucking complicated, and Babs tried to break her spirit, to stop her being Batgirl, which isn't something Steph really forgets.

But then Peggy comes along and they sort of worm their way into each other's lives, and Steph keeps... waiting for her to leave, or to decide she has better things to do than spend time with a 20 year old vigilante, or to say something cruel because obviously Steph isn't - good enough (thanks for that complex, Bruce). But she hasn't??? She's been nothing but supportive and kind and Steph's been waiting for the other shoe to drop but it hasn't????? And she's starting to get to the point where she's going to stop expecting it, where she'll realize that Peggy isn't going to fuck her over.

Which is kind of saying something, since she doesn't even trust Cass that much (sorry Cass but you left ;~; )

And she just genuinely enjoys Peggy's company, she thinks she's such an amazing person and a total badass. Steph respects her so much, for how awesome she is and for doing the sort of work she does, in the time period she comes from. She can - sort of tell that Peggy respects her in return, which is another super strange thing. It makes her feel pretty damn good about herself, though.

tbh, if there were a list of people Steph is sad about losing once they all go home, Peggy comes right under Brandon (tho she... is going to get bumped to the top for a few weeks until Steph stops hating him). The thought of going home to a world without Peggy, and her friendship, in it is a really depressing one.

basically she loves her a lot okay.

now onto Annabeth

Speaking of lists, Annabeth is pretty much on the top of the list of 'people to find out Steph's secret ID', because Steph really respects her intelligence and badassery and would like to be able to be honest with her. I think she's a little unsure what to do with her in a sense of like - if they were just hanging out as friends? Part of it has to do with the fact she thinks Annabeth is so much damn smarter than her, which makes her a feel a little awkward when talking to her if they're not beating up thugs or having a serious discussion. Like - she just feels like small talk would be annoying to Annabeth? But she does enjoy joking around with her, and Annabeth has a great sense of humour which helps ease some of that worry.

But she definitely likes talking srs topics with her. Annabeth seems to be one of the few who's really taking this shit seriously, with regards to figuring out what they're doing in Keeliai, what the Emperor is up to and how the whole thing works. Steph is a pretty curious person, but she's not smart the way Bruce or the other Bats are, so she doesn't put a lot of effort into intelluctual sort of things because she doesn't think she can. Talking to Annabeth makes her really want to sit down and think things through and take notes and write up theories so they can discuss it all, which is a bit of a strange thing for her, but she likes it.

And Annabeth is really fucking badass, which always helps.
