volunteer-related shenanigans
Pursuant to this post over yonder, our lovely volunteers have been selected by the will and grace of THE CLAW
(pause for effect and also a gif)

Those chosen are as follows:
Charles Xavier
Dorian Gray (not to be confused with Jean)
Nathan Drake
Lois Lane
Lina Inverse
Morwen
CHARLES: is getting an enchanted book. It will magically appear to be written in whichever language the reader fancies, and it's said that if you recite the entire thing aloud backwards, it will grant the reader a wish of singular and immense power. (However, that part's a secret and will have to be discovered by characters ICly, it doesn't come with a guide!) The book itself is one of fairy tales, yet the ending of each one will vary according to the reader. If there's a life lesson you need to learn, this book will incorporate it somehow.
DORIAN: is going to be quite persistently followed around by a magic carpet as soon as he enters the treasure room. This magic carpet is quite old, but brilliantly decorated with an Asian dragon motif. It can fly (with up to three passengers!) and is unnaturally warm to the touch, as well as being merrily fireproof. Great for those cold nights. However, it has a mind of its own and it likes to rearrange furniture when its owner isn't looking.
NATHAN: is going to happen upon a a certain ring...
LOIS: is going to find an old bottle has stowed away with her when she leaves. This bottle is fairly innocuous - or is it? It just so happens that if you turn its stopper three times before removing it, you can enter the bottle yourself! Inside, there's a complete miniature eco-system - a natural waterfall with a cave behind it - etc. It's home to flora and fauna alike and is completely unbreakable, so dropping this bottle won't harm it at all. Of course, there's no guarantee that using it is safe...
LINA: is stumbling across the Helmet of Fate, to whatever point and purpose that might merit.
MORWEN: will be finding a kitten. This kitten happens to have a beautiful antique skeleton key tied to a ribbon around its neck. It's said that this key can open any door - on this and any other plane of existence. It glows faintly and when touching it, one feels a pulse not unlike a heart-beat...
ALL THE ABOVE CHARACTERS will be able to make off with other, more mundane items as well, including money and/or jewels or coins, but these are the only ~magic~ items they'll be getting (and what they can make off with is limited to what they can carry!) If the characters wish to swap amongst themselves, that's fine, but please let us know for record-keeping purposes who ends up with what. However, be warned - the more your character takes, the more likely someone is going to come looking for them later. One doesn't steal from the Emperor without the potential of reprisal.
edited to add: Log for those involved!
