If they are killed by a jiangshi, they respawn immediately and their body reanimates without their soul within it. Technically, that leaves a zombied body and their respawned one.

If they are bitten, anywhere between three and ten hours can pass depending on the severity of the injury before they succumb and die, wherein the above respawn happens.
