John will be in on this for anyone who wants him. They can get memories of his time in the army, or any part of the time he spent chasing Sherlock around on cases, Sherlock's (faked) suicide, or any of his time in his previous game where people may or may not recognize others (or even themselves).

If anyone is interested in that last one, I can easily tell you if he had CR with someone from their canon.
