gonna get so dramatic up in here!!!

[Her eyebrows lift momentarily at the address. French? Here? It's a very welcome sound, and it shows in the faint smile she sports while wrapping the scarf the rest of the way around her head and shoulders, pulling some of it forward to cast a shadow on her face.] Merci beaucoup. [The merchant, too, gets a brief but polite apology. She's not normally in the habit of interrupting conversation, but, well. This is somewhat important.]

Well, it's quite a noisy street, from what I've seen. [Very matter-of-factly, she glances back down the street. You are, of course, correct, sir -- this is entirely her fault, and she briefly flicks her eyes back to his face, as if confirming that fact.

The street is not, in fact, as busy as she says, so the heavy footfalls of two local thug-looking characters are hard to miss. Phryne watches them from beneath dark glasses, for a moment, before moving so that her back is turned to them. From the side, Monsieur Poirot blocks their view of her as they search the streets.]

If you don't mind, [She keeps her voice quiet, polite, and very, very calm.] I might need you to not move, just for a moment.

[Now. Let's see if this works.]
