It might have seemed counter-intuitive to visibly drink from the mug, to show the blind girl that it wasn't drugged, but she could hear everything that he did and she knew full well what he was trying to prove. The question was whether the show was legitimate or whether he'd simply built up a resistance to whatever was in the mug. She could hear voices from the next room drawing nearer, however; someone would be here before much longer, someone who would probably notice if the little blind girl fell over. Another moment's hesitation and then she tipped the mug up herself, willing to risk it.

She didn't remember what this stuff was called, but it was absolute bliss.

The mug returned to the tabletop almost completely drained and the coins disappeared just as quickly. "I sometimes hear things," she said, nodding slightly. "Who's asking?"
