It was a title used by humans who didn't know him, people who believed he was afforded respect simply for living in Hightown. That used to irritate him, what with Darktown right beneath their feet; now, the use of the word strikes him only for the idea that a demon might be using it.

"By all means," Fenris answers, lowering the sword slightly. He didn't know what it would prove, but at least some small portion of the wine wouldn't go to waste.
