hey! it's time for a cr with me meme! Welcome to the bi-monthly edition of the CR Meme! It's been nearly a year since the Foreigners have returned to Keeliai! For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're interested in for your characters in coming months. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.' We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in. This round, we have a special section called TURTLE MOVERS, specifically for how characters are, or would like to, participate in the plan to move Asti to shallower waters and anchor him. CHARACTER: Raine Sage / ruinsprofessor
CANON: Tales of Symphonia

CURRENT STATUS: Baseline, more or less. Raine's happy. Kind of getting over the fact that her brother's gone. Heading up the Guild, continuing to try to spread healing techniques and study magical cross-contamination between worlds. Happy to provide common sense, headslaps, or healing + light magic.

Her personal life is still, somehow, a quiet soap opera.

CR GOALS: I just want more. I'm up for just about anything with Raine honestly. Especially stuff involving adopting family.

I don't have a problem you have a problem.

CHARACTER: China Sorrows / inkulcation
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant

CURRENT STATUS: First, obligatory reminder that China has love magic. If you haven't played with her before or have questions or concerns or just don't want to play with her because of that, lmk and I'll do my best to fall in line.

On the status front: she hates a lot of things! On her to-do list this month: screwing with Anton, staying the hell away from Gene. As per usual, she's gathering information and sitting on it till it hatches until it's useful to her.

In theory she was responsible for the safekeeping of two Chihuelan deserters but I have majorly dropped the ball and I'm very sorry. If anyone wants to help me pick that back up or talk to me about it...

CR GOALS: ... peculiarly, positive CR. About 90% of China's CR is negative right now, for... perhaps obvious reasons. Special exceptions include Arno (adorable) and Skulduggery (but we never know what those two are doing anyway, and 'hideously complex' is a terrible understatement.) so if you have a character who would love to be terrible with her, or demonstrate positive sentiment despite having zero reason to do so and thereby completely confuse her, A++

I want her to learn and grow as a human being. Unfortunately, the murder threats do not seem to be helping with that one.

TURTLE MOVERS: Neither is currently participating, but mostly because I've been a bit overwhelmed! I'd like at least Raine to get involved somehow, but I... am intimidated and not sure where to start. Halp.

SCENE-DOS: honestly I'm up for most things! With a few exceptions... /points down

SCENE-DON'TS: China is complicated and if we could avoid any more than the current catastrofucks for now, that would be great. I'll get back to you on this. Would also currently prefer to avoid putting Raine in any more situations where she fails to heal, so if you want your character to remain some variety of broken, I'd prefer not to involve her in the first place.

Other than that, just check with me/touch base for anything big like massive violence or secret revelations please.

1. For lighter stuff, Klaus can continue tripping over himself because of China's love-magic. Likely the worst that would come of it is she gets some very lovely bouquets to decorate her home.

2. Turtle moving! There's a lot of work that needs to be done, including any kind of diplomacy, communications, etc. Also since Klaus is going to be using his giant magic indestructible crosses made from his own blood to create a barrier that will keep the turtle from getting washed out back to sea, heeeeeeeee's probs gonna need some serious healing in between laying those boogers down.

...yeah Raine can easily be persuaded to keep Klaus on his feet what is with you people using self-damaging magic etc
I'm not sure I'd want something as high-key organizational as diplo or communications, but keeping a couple people on their feet, probably.

And oh, wow, Klaus tripping over himself around China. Yes. Please.

Klaus will . . . definitely need some healing. ^^; I know Raine's talent lies a lot in light and healing. Does it extend to any elemental stuff as well that would allow her to help push?

Healing may also be very useful to rejuvenate exhausted magic users in between pushing efforts, if it can be used that way?

On a personal end, I'd just like to try Raine and Lapis again if you're up for it. Lapis is in a much different place mentally and emotionally than she was when they first met -- and Klaus has recommended Raine as a good person to get to know.

Raine basically does nothing but light and healing. For big elemental stuff you'd have wanted her brother, unfortunately. Alas.

I'm... not sure where she stands on magic regeneration, because there is in-game a technique she has to transfer magical energy, but I literally always forget it exists, but I have already been doing something that is... in the same neighborhood. So... hm. I don't know, I'll get back to you on that one. Fixing Klaus defs.

and sure, Raine and Lapis again would be fun. c: We should do that.
