[When Zell steps back without a word, he manages to step right into Skulduggery. That's an impressive feat in and of itself, given how unnaturally thin Skulduggery is. But it happens anyway. And apart from a new scuff mark on one of Skulduggery's shoes, he's pretty certain he'll live.]

It's alright. I've knocked into far worse, believe me.

[There's nothing strange about the suit, apart from the fact that it's custom tailored and still manages to hang oddly off of Skulduggery's shoulder blades. Likewise, there's nothing strange about his gloves, other than his apparently choosing to wear them in relatively warm weather.

His head, however, is a blank skull with a hat on top of it, tilted slightly to the side.]

You're not a kedan. Are you new?

[Zell's first thought, while he still hasn't recovered enough to really pay attention to whoever he'd bumped into, is relief that he at least hasn't bumped into someone who'll take it as an excuse to start a fight.

Then he takes a proper look at the stranger and can't even attempt to hide how the colour drains from his face. He's seen a lot already since he's been here, but he has to admit this is a new one on him and he's not entirely sure where to start.

Zell's not a kedan, they both evidentially know this. He's not sure this guy isn't and either way, apparently-a-skeleton isn't someone Zell's used to dealing with.

And so he gapes for a long moment, giving his brain time to spill the first thing that comes to his head.]

I was already leaving. Didn't realise I wasn't supposed to be here.

[Because he can't help but think this guy's some sort of enforcer and that he's outstayed his already limited welcome in this district.]

[... Yes. Definitely new. This one isn't going to faint, is he? Not that Skulduggery minds fainting specifically, but it does make their situation a bit awkward, what with being out in public and all.

Fortunately, the newcomer doesn't faint, but his answer doesn't make very much sense - at least until Skulduggery thinks it through a little more. He hasn't even gotten the standard welcome yet? Someone's falling down on the job.]

In the city, I mean. You haven't seen this city before, have you? I can point you towards the Welcome Center, if you'd like. I know I'm not the type of person people enjoy coming across. [He shakes his head sadly.] God knows why.

Ah. No. It's okay. I...I got that already.

[Or at least, he's had directions to the Welcome Center. How much use he's made of that is another matter; it's not hard to get distracted when there's so much to get used to and a niggling thought at the back of his mind that what if the others are here somewhere too? Can he really hole himself up in a space like that without knowing for sure he's not abandoning the people that matter to him?

And okay. He's curious, he can't help it. Especially in a space like this.

At least he has the wherewithal to bite his tongue when Skulduggery mentions people not finding him enjoyable company. Look at that, he can learn his lesson after all, sort of.]

Just...wanted to explore a little first. But they don't seem to like me much around here.

[Skulduggery nods toward the music player.]

Probably because they thought you were going to steal that. Were you?
