On the edge of Fire Sector in the early hours of the morning, Skulduggery will notice a small group of three kedan loitering at the entrance of an alley - loitering with purpose, one might say. When confronted, the kedan will retreat into the alleyway, but not out of fear. They might even have been mocking him, if their facial expressions weren’t all the same blank, dull, and emotionless stare. When followed into the alleyway, they will attack. There won’t be any verbal warning, though they’ll all move slowly enough to be relatively easy to anticipate. In fact, they’ll move like a well-trained strike team, but a well-trained strike team in slow motion. If they do manage to get the better of Skulduggery, it will be because of superior coordination and strategy rather than superior speed; they almost seem to read each other’s minds. Should Skulduggery gain the upper hand, a fourth kedan will drop from the roof on top of him, though this seems to be more an attempt to get his soul-gem than to cause any real damage. If two or more of them are ever incapacitated, their fellows will abandon the attempted mugging to pull them back out of danger and retreat.
