ok how about this once upon the time there was a really charming, dashing gentleman that decided he liked this weird unstable guy and would make him food all the time and was never appreciated for it and then the weird guy got all mad when he found out the charming hottie that had been looking after him was also a cannibal instead of just letting it go and saying 'thanks for the people soup it was delicious' or something

really though: as has been said in many interviews with mads mikkelsen, hannibal cares about will and wants to get closer to him, but will is walking on a thin line right now and hannibal would still eat him and/or destroy his reputation if it came down to that. shows how much hannibal's affection is actually worth. he also really wishes that will would learn to keep his mouth shut about certain things and is going to be keeping an eye on him now.

and if anyone else here decides to mess with will too much, hannibal would make a point of eating them. he hopes will appreciates that.
