Monet was going to dismiss Ellie as just another plebe but the comment about the zombies is sticking with her. She has a lot of sympathy for kids who have it hard and she can understand why Ellie would find her annoying, but she doesn't quite care (or hides the fact that she does), and she doesn't think Ellie'd be willing to tell someone like her anyway.
