Welcome to Tu Shanshu's monthly activity check!

This period of AC covers January 1st to January 31st and in order to qualify for this period, the thread or posts in question need to fall between these dates. Although the AC has a grace period of seven days in which to post your threads, any post or thread must be started between the dates of January 1st and January 31st. Backtagging is fine – if your thread is standing at nine comments and the final contribution to it comes between the 31st and the 7th, that's totally acceptable! But keep the starting date requirement in mind.

That said, here are the requirements of a Tu Shanshu activity check!
  1. One post, either in [community profile] tushanshu_logs or [community profile] tushanshu respectively. It's perfectly acceptable to have made more than one post (or one in each, for example) but you must meet the minimum requirement of one, and there has to be evidence of you having made an effort to reply to the tags.

    OR

  2. A total of twenty comments in other people's threads throughout the game, either in a log or in the primary comm. This cumulative count may be reached in a maximum of four separate threads, but requires twenty overall comments from your character, not the final total of the thread itself.

One important thing to note: If you have used a thread with a particular character to meet your AC in one month, you are NOT ALLOWED to solely use that same character again in the following month. In other words: At least one of the threads you use for AC must be with a character that was not used to make AC in the prior month. This is to encourage tagging outside of your established CR.

For example: I'm playing Luke Skywalker, and for this month's AC I used a thread with Han Solo to make my comment AC. That means that next month, I'm not permitted to use Han again, even if we've done a dozen threads since. However, a thread with Leia Organa is perfectly acceptable.

Characters accepted in January 2014 or who were on official and approved hiatus for two weeks or more during the activity period are exempt from the Activity Check. However, everyone is encouraged to fill it out so that we have a record of your activity, and so we don't accidentally sweep anyone from the game.

If for any reason you have been unable to meet the AC and your character is 'swept' from the game, you may reclaim this character once if you reply to the Activity Check results. If that particular character lands on the AC again, you will need to re-apply for them, except in the case of extenuating circumstances. Characters who are not reclaimed will be considered dropped, and removed from the game.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: For those interested in apping a 4th character at the conclusion of this AC, please be advised we do look for additional activity before approval to app a 4th will be granted. That means we are looking for double AC - for example, a post and twenty comments or forty comments. Making two posts, however, is not permissible.

You have until February 7th to fill out this activity check for your character(s).

Hi, Tushan, it's Danni again! The holidays are over and my life has gotten un-crazied, so guess which beetle kid is making a triumphant return.

For those of you who haven't seen him around before, this is DC's Jaime Reyes, aka the third person to hold the title of Blue Beetle. He's a teenager from El Paso who also has a world destroying alien superweapon lodged in his spine, but instead of destroying worlds he taught it to do superhero things and to like Star Trek and sarcasm. Jaime is a massive dorkus and will be making friends with everyone, and in line with his mother adopting the whole turtle he's going to big/little brother the whole turtle.

He will also be KIND OF DISTRESSED that he disappeared for two months there, because this has happened before and it Did Not Go Well.

As always, my plotting plurk is at [plurk.com profile] reenact, and I'm khajixda on AIM; feel free to add me and talk to me on either. It's lovely to be back, Tushan!

The four month rotation for our wonderful team of current application mods comes to an end mid-February and so it is time to open the doors for mod applications once more! Please read on for details about what the duties entail and how to apply! There will be subheaders in the comments for any questions you may have, as well as specific headers for applications to be submitted under.

We are currently looking for two people to join our admin team in the role of app mods, as one of the current app mods will be staying on for another rotation.

All comments to this post are automatically screened for the privacy of the applicants. Questions will be unscreened as they are received and answered.

Administration Team Breakdown
Requirements | All Roles
Clear communication skills are a MUST for anyone that is involved in these roles. You must be comfortable and willing to discuss all topics related to your role. Should there be any unexpected topic that raises personal discomfort, you will be expected to at least communicate that you are not comfortable and therefore unable to assist in that particular instant. Communication is a key foundation for any administrative team to be successful.

You must be willing to field queries from members and potential applicants in a respectful manner. While an answer may seem obvious to you, others may not have made the same connection and should never be made to feel bad for that. In this realm, you must also be ready to re-direct queries or do additional research/confer with Alex and Roy to ensure that answers are accurate and consistent with set precedence in the game.

Having a plurk is not a requirement for these positions. We ask that you provide at least one form of contact that you check daily (or as near a thing as possible) so that queries or tasks do not go unaddressed for undue lengths of time.

Note: None of these positions require previous experience to apply for! We do ask for a brief summary of any experience that you may have as a matter of helping us understand your suitability for the role.

Application Team | Two positions available
This team will function independently of Alex and Roy except for a final verdict (ie: they'll judge the app, one of us will come through and double-check that we agree with the verdict, and they'll carry on from there). These duties will involve judging apps regardless of canon familiarity (app mods will be expected to have time available to do some form of canon review in the event of unfamiliar canons) and writing up the accept/revisions/reject notices as per our forms. This is a position that will take roughly eight to ten hours a week, per person, with the majority of the time falling between Wednesday and Friday. To prevent burn-out, these positions will be on a four month rotation. At the end of that four months, we will again ask for people to join the app team.

Administration Team Applications
Application Team | Two positions available
We will be taking applications for application mods from February 1st until February 14th. Interested parties are asked to complete the below form and post it in this subheader of the post.

Disclaimer
We note that due to the amount of work that is involved in processing the weekly character applications that come in, should there be an insufficient number of submissions to join the app mod team, the application process of the game itself will be limited to a number of accepted slots per month. After that point is reached, applications will be closed until the next month. The number being considered is ten per month, but we would vastly prefer to be able to continue with the weekly cutoff and a full app mod team.
