There is a brothel in the Fire Sector that would love to speak with Hannibal as the newcomer he is, trying to entice him in for business at first. Should he engage in conversation with them and ask after the state of the turtle, some of the prettier employees will pass their hands over their faces, the gesture very reverent -- almost like crossing one's self. They will say they had dark dreams about the turtle's future that featured a shadow they could not identify. They knew it only as something great and terrible.

The matriarch of the establishment will say that these kedan have had such dreams in the past that foretold of terrible events, such as the jiangshi invasion. She will ask him to keep this secret, as there are rumours that kedan having similar dreams have been going missing.

Should Hannibal pursue this further by seeking out the truth behind those rumours, he will find himself drawing the attention of two small, fast kedan intent to warn him off with whatever means necessary. The fate of these two kedan is up to you, but please note that any deaths accrue toward's the character's rule-of-ten.

Whether this escalates further depends on whether you would like it to. If you would like to gather a small, unofficial party of at least three characters not currently involved in the event, this could escalate into a small kidnapping ring that has been interrogating the few kedan having these dreams. In addition to potentially freeing those kedan, the party could obtain copies of information gleaned from the dreams that provide a whole picture where each dream provided a simple glimpse. Please advise with a reply to this comment if this will be pursued and which characters would be involved; a mod would then reply with additional details of this information.

Note: Feel free to create and name some NPCs for the sake of this event; these ones will not contribute to your NPC allies count. Any NPC deaths, however, still contribute to the rule-of-tens.
