See, the problem is that Kyle gets it. Why he’s angry, and why he’s using the tactics he is. So it might not be rooted in total altruism, but the end goal is equality for non-benders, and righting an unequal society where privilege is distributed extremely unequally. He’s suspicious of Tarrlok, really not impressed by Korra (quick, somebody change his opinion) and doesn’t think that system can be changed from the inside. So. Amon. Sometimes you have no choice but what to do what you do, and he can respect that. (But if you screw up, he will end you.)
He also gets the idea that Amon really hasn’t had a chance to be exposed to all these other perspectives and people that are on the turtle, and hopefully this might temper his tactics and/or help him discover more effective (and possibly less violent!) ways of patching things up.
