The mental wavelength of the spectres is too dissimilar to allow a true unification of the minds -- they can control the body, but not read the thoughts, and vice versa on the thoughts thing. Possessed persons will experience a residue of the determination/goal of their particular spectre as kind of an urge, but no coherent thought or memories.
